Careful choice of words Rouge-all those timeouts give you time to think?

Jay's interview just now on WAFB was awesome, would be shocked if he isn't on the big stage soon. Oh, one more thing-the President of the FN is one of the ugliest hags I've ever seen on national TV. Or ever. IWNHI

It was a coin flip between Jay and Eddie and 98% of the people here believe that.

They gave it to the black guy because if not, there would have been boycotts and "peaceful protests (peaceful my arse)".

I'm in no way surprised they gave it to him, though his DDD pilot was by far the worst and seemed to be the most unnatural.

Good for Eddie and I'll probably at least watch an episode or two of his show.

I think it could've gone either way... I think both were very comfortable in front of the camera... and would do well.

I was kinda thinking it would be Eddie though towards the end, because, right or wrong... it is TV.. and Jay's appearance was kinda slovenly the whole show... In my mind, that has to count for something to the TV execs (not that I would care).

Eddie was far and away the best choice.

That's a ridiculous take. I thought that Jay was slightly better than Eddie all season long (more consistent in both cooking and in front of the camera), but last night Eddie's pilot was better than Jay's. When the judging panel was discussing what they were looking for in a winner during deliberations, it was evident who the choice would be.

Really, it was a 2-man race all season long, with the likes of Dom, Arnold, and Michelle all being a clear cut below those two.

It was. By never actually having a stable POV (unintentional), the execs took it as him being able to wear multiple hats. They even mentioned that on the show. In the past it was all about defining who you were and having a firm POV. This time it was about having a firm body and no POV

LSUBoo, tell ya boy I hope he eventually gets that deal he deserves. Not only was I rooting for him because he was the hometown guy, but also because I have similar aspirations and really respect what he has been doing here. It was cool to see him go through that and be so dominant throughout.

It was a very hot take, I'll give you that. Probably could have taken it out of the broiler a little earlier.

I don't think anyone is mad Eddie won, just bummed to have the hometown favorite, who many on this board know, beaten. Eddie's race has zero to do with why I hate that Jay didn't win.

Big congrats to Jay!! That was a hard competition and he stood the test. He has lot to be proud of and he's obviously made for TV. I hope he gets a show somewhere. Heck, I'd just as soon see him on public television.

Eddie and Jay have been neck and neck pretty much for most of the contest as far as comfort in front of the TV and they were back and forth on the cooking. I think most folks watching figured it would come down to one of them. I have no idea what kind of show Eddie will have, but I doubt it's his choice. Seems to me that FN is deciding what kind of show they want regardless of the POV of the winning contestant. Don't know if the pilot is indicative of the show either. That remains to be seen. I'd be looking for Jay's show to come out. I'll probably forget about Eddie's, but that's really because Jay is the hometown boy and I'd be more interested in him for that reason. Hard to say whether I'd be interested in the show Jay has for FN. If he's just going around looking at fried foods, I doubt I'd watch that. I wanted to see him cook.

I never considered race when I was watching this show. Eddie was good and it had nothing to do with race in my opinion. He's a former pro football player. Maybe they liked that aspect, too.

I hope not winning ends up a big win for Jay. He's such a likable guy. Cheers Jay!

Some good perspective here and lots of butt hurt (as they say on the MSB) and some completely deluded.

And GG I agree about the decreased emphasis on POV. I've been saying for several weeks.
