Sounds like the producers of the Food Network influence your posting on TD

Caught up on them last night.... And as a meat snob, was craving a bite of his ribeye dish.

Good job, Jay.

Jay is doing well, but the attractive lady in the shorts was looking strong at the BBQ.

Was not that impressed with any of them actually.

The challenge was just an opportunity to get up and rah rah a crowd. Even I could do that for 1 minute.

Glad Jay did well, but if he can't do something good with a prime ribeye and a second chance at okra, he would not have deserved to stay.

Portabello mushrooms was brutal. She screwed it up, but to be dealt that hand was tough.

Not sure why they are keeping Dom or how he even got on the show. He has zero TV potential.

Eddie was terrible, but sandwich guy screwed him badly. In a group presentation, stopping a guy who won't take a breath and is overly impressed with himself is a bad place to be.

There were some who did bad jobs, so it must not have been as easy as it looked to get the crowd going immediately and keep them for the minute. Some didn't use all the time and one when way too far and did a really bad job. For one minute, you better get the crowd with your first word.

I could talk about a grilled hot dog in an excited way for one minute.

I'm not saying I could do the camera challenges or most anything of what they do, but that challenge was the one easy thing that anyone with any speaking ability can do.

The ones that did a bad job at that should be eliminated, and likely will be.

I'm sure you could. Some people can speak excitedly and never say much of anything, though.

I think it's pretty easy to screw up steaks in that sort of setting and under that sort of stress. I doubt Jay had meat thermometers, but maybe he did. I'd like to know more details on the challenges that we don't see. Maybe Jay will enlighten us later on.

Since day 1 I have been wondering why he made it on the show. He hates the camera, but wants his own TV show? I don't understand.

The point is that I know for a fact I could do the speaking part of that challenge in an interesting and engaging way and in line with what they are asking for-personal connection and description of the food.

These people are trying out to be on TV, so if they can't do that, which is the easiest of all the challenges, they need to go home.

I couldn't execute that with or without a thermometer. But I'm not a chef with his skill set either.

I'm not criticizing the guy at all. I'd like to see him win. I'm just saying this particular challenge was not particularly challenging in comparison to some of the others.

Jay is #1 in this guy's ranking. The guy also tears up the Food Network.

Did they tape the show months ago or is it filming as it goes? I mean I know it isnt live but at all but just curious how long ago filming ended, if it has.

Power Rankings for Food Network Star.

He would be my choice to actually watch if he had a show.

I'd watch Rue and Eddie (maybe) as well. The rest, nah.

They filmed it a few months ago. They aren't filming as they go.

Even the final show? It must suck to keep that secret for a few months.

It's my understanding that the entire show is already done. Yep, hard to keep the secret. Like Jesse who knew he'd be voted off this week on MasterChef, but couldn't say anything.

I don't think they tell the winner that they won with this show until the final episode though. I think it is a popular vote if my memory is correct.

But still, I'd be hiding under a rock for the entire season. I wouldnt be able to keep anything a secret.

Maybe that's how it works, but they certainly have to know who is left in the running. Doesn't it get down to 3? I haven't watched but one entire season, I think and that was several years ago.

I haven't asked him many details about the show yet, I don't want any spoilers. But yes, the finale has been filmed.
