Ethnic cuisine Baton Rouge

I need a few suggestions for untypical ethnic lunch spots in Baton Rouge. I love and frequent Dangs and Saigon Noodles but am looking for other ideas. I have yet to visit a Thai or Indian place in BR. Ideas for what to order would be helpful as well.

I'm a fan of Thai Pepper on Florida. They have a good lunch buffet. If they have green papaya salad or beef salad, jump on it. Both are crazy spicy. The chicken in peanut sauce is good and the vegetables in green curry sauce.
As far as Indian places, Curry & Kabob narrowly gets the nod over Bay Leaf and India's. They have good fresh naan at Curry & Kabob, along with curry and rice dishes. Bay Leaf is a little nicer and more expensive than Curry & Kabob, but last time I was there, I got a lamb dish that was super gamey. It must have come from a 30 year old ram.

Thanks, I will try Thai Pepper and the Thai place mentioned on Coursey Blvd. I have never heard of Curry & Kabob and will put them on my list as well.
I am making a list of untypical ethnic places to eat in BR and will be visiting two a week for lunch. I am just a but burned out on Chimes, Sammy's, Zeas etc.

Rama.
Larb or Rama spicy. Rama duck. Pad Thai. Lemongrass soup. Spring rolls.

Agree with timbo on Thai Pepper and Curry & Kabob. If you haven't eaten the Chinese at Omi, that is another must.

I can vouch for Rama and Thai Pepper. Thai Pepper buffet is amazing but my god the food is HOT. Even their mild offerings are spicy to me but I can't handle spice like a lot of people. The food also gives me the burning shits, it feels like a blow torch is on my arsehole. I love the food but not sure it is worth it but I also know 99% of people won't have that same reaction. I definitely admit the food tastes amazing. I can eat other spicy food so I am not sure why theirs burns me from the inside so badly.
Rama is a favorite, like to get it to go since the inside is like a prison cell and service is slow. Rama Spicy and Penang Chicken is awesome. Hope I spelled that right.
The GOAT though is Curry N' Kebab. Amazing food, love that they have a buffet all day AND the nicest people you will ever come across.

Thai Kitchen is good. More expensive than the others though.

Good post. Thai peppers lunch buffet is solid. Get there before noon so it'll be fresh.

Duang Tawan for lunch. You won't be disappointed.

Of course the correct answer would have been Ronnie's Ribs for Jamaican. She certainly didn't close due to lack of my business.

You're living in the past, man. You're hung up on some clown from the '60s, man!

Not Thai or Indian, but if you like Middle Eastern, Greek, Lebanese, etc. Roman Café on Perkins near Essen has the best chicken shwarma salad I've had, anywhere.

I agree with everyone who said Thai Pepper.
El Paste Dorado is really good. If they have the shrimp soup, get it. Wife loved their sopes.
Little Saigon is my go to for Vietnamese. Not Saigon Noodle (they're in Little Saigon's old spot) ... Little Saigon is accross Florida Blvd. next to Baskin Robbins now. Spring roll app with extra peanut sauce. #10 with grilled chicken (put some extra peanut sauce on that chicken, baw). Combination Banh Mi to go for later. Their Pho is good too.
Last time i was in Baton Rouge, i checked out the Ideal Market on Sherwood and Old Hammond ... they have some good stuff on their deli/hot plate counter, and although i haven't tried their grilled chickens personally, i've had several people tell me i need to try it next time i'm down there.
The chicken from Ideal Market is No. 2 on my to-try list behind Omi. I haven't tried them yet either, but EVERYONE raves about the place.
Thai Pepper is very solid.
Bay Leaf is good, but people on here swear that Curry and Kebab has them slightly beat. I'll try to fit them in as well when we visit, but they're 3rd on the priority list at best. Don't know if we'll have time to fit 3 new spots after the obligatory stops.
