Are all the items mentioned 120 volt... could be a loose neutral (Grounded conductor) in the electrical system, but you would probably see other items acting up as well. This would not effect 220 volt appliances....

If you are connecting to the load by way of a cord/ receptacle. the frame of the generator should not be grounded. Per the National Electrical Code. If you are connecting via a Transfer Switch consult the manufacture....
