Ugh...hate chicken livers but my granma keeps making them for me every time I visit all because one time I politely ate a plateful just to make her happy. Ever since then, she'll make me a huge plate full of fried chicken livers every time I visit thinking I like it.
I want to tell her the truth but I think it will break her heart. Should I suck it up and eat it or break her little heart?

Tell her you're now a vegan and no longer eat any meat products. That should do it.

You sound like a brat! Eat what Granny makes for you. Some of us don’t have that privilege.

You tell her it’s not your favorite, then tell her what your favorites are, then she makes those. That’s what good grandmothers do. RIP Mon-Mon O

Checks out.

Chicken livers are amazing. I seek them out. If they are on the menu, I’m getting them. Great source of protein and CoQ10.

Favorites in Birmingham are Ted’s Steakhouse, Fried Green Tomatoes, BistroV, and Foodbar when they have them. Pro tip: get BistroV to make their salad with chicken livers on top with their sauce on the side.

You obviously need to work on communication skills. Tell her how much you love, miss, and want to enjoy one of her other dishes. Do that , before your next trip, in time for her to plan and prepare.

And eat the damn livers .

RA'ed to move to Reddit Board.

Tell her the Exxon Gas Station on the corner of Town Blvd and Northside Drive has much better fried livers than she will ever be able to cook. That should take care of your inheritance.

Best livers in DeKalb are at the Pure Oil Station on the square. You need to try them. Will change your aversion to fried livers.

Tell her your cholesterol numbers were high on your recent health check up and you removed chicken livers from your diet.

Old people love to talk about their health problems and what they're doing to fix them.

It's something relatable and she'll want to help you achieve your health goals.

Tell her you got food poison from some bad liver and you just can’t stand to eat them anymore.

Tell her you appreciate it but are kinda tired of them. Suggest some gizzards next time.

When I was a kid in WV in the 60s- 70s we ate gizzards on the regular with white chicken gravy over white sliced bread. We was poors. Love, love, loved gizzards and chicken livers when I was a tot.

Tooney's Quick Stop and Handy Mart. Highway 39 across from the courthouse, on the square.

He is on FaceBook. If you look through enough photos on his site, you will see a big pan of livers hot in the serving cabinet. Such good memories.

Problem here is it’s hard to say “Me-maw, the chicken livers were great! But I really miss you “chicken and dumplings” (insert what you want there) and make everyone happy. Because I don’t want to hear about gout and goiters at maw-maw’s table. Or anywhere.

Wrap those livers in bacon and bake, broil or air fry. The only way I can eat them.

You suck it up and power through them so much so that you eat them all. Every last one. Then you say you're still hungry, whatever she makes next you eat it and say it was even better than the livers.

Next time you come over you'll have both of those and you can ween off the liver.

Don't you go breaking granny heart.
