Well, CCBBQ is closed by like 2 so I doubt that's a pregame drink place.

Man, it is so good. I would need to fly to KC and Memphis and Austin to compare to my favorites, but best burnt ends I ever had.
I was first in line, ordered ave had my food in two minutes. I ordered to go because I had to be in mid city for 11:30 but I scarfed down most of it first.
The guy at the counter was great, service was good all around. A good crew he has there for sure.
I plan to be a regular.

Got the burnt ends plate at about 1130 with the spoonbread and the potato salad. I havent had a better bite of bbq in Louisiana ever.
Love the spoonbread, next time I'll order a side other than the potato salad.
Second time I've gotten the burnt end plate and it was fantastic both times.

I think I will treat bbq in new Orleans like I treat Vietnamese in Baton Rouge, meaning depending on what I want to get will decide where I go:
Brisket - Central City Bbq
Wings - Blue Oak
Ribs - Frey

Went to Primitivo a week before Christmas, it was not a good as I've had previously. Their menu has changed for the worse imo.

Targeting CCBBQ this weekend, will report back.

They had a lot of employees. Seemed like eight in the kitchen, two out clearing tables, two at the bar, Rob and two others outside with the wood. I was surprised. I wonder what labor costs are.

Yeah, that is something I did notice. A hell of a lot of people behind that window.

I didn't think it was possible, but Chef Rob has out-dumbassed himself.

I shot over to CC BBQ this morning early enough to kill this hangover with a burnt end plate. Yes, burnt ends were still available. No, I did not get them.

The only way now to get his #1 menu item is to buy the $49 sampler. No thanks, brah.

Hahahaha

I knew this was coming. Should solve the problem of people poaching the burnt ends. Brilliant business move.

It worked the same way when he was doing NOLA Smokehouse and sold every bit of them.

Will wait and see. Don't see this move lasting.

...and how is buying a burnt end plate at like $19 "poaching" them?
