Plenty of powder left in the back bowls at vail. Snow nice and crunchy, felt like -6 most of the morning. And my bag is finally at the eagle airport

You been hitting up blue sky basin?

ETA - it is fricking cold in the front range right now even with no wind. Must have been freezing out there today

Blue sky is on the plan for tomorrow along with mongolia. My friend went yesterday right after they finished avalanche blasting and said it was the best run he's ever had.

Cold wise, the back bowls were fine all day. On the front, it was definitely starting to get nippy around 3pm.

Outer Mongolia is some guaranteed powder. Worth the lap out there.

Angel fire got dumped on a good bit overnight. They opened quite a few more runs and there was plenty of powder covering the ice that has been pretty bad the last couple days.

Last day tomorrow. :/

Just booked my trip to Breck Mar 7-13. Never skied that late before. Always have skied Jan-Feb. Everything I've read says still great snow and actually one of the best months for more powder. I guess I'm just used it already starting to warm up in louisiana around that time lol

March is a great month! Last year was Miracle March with a bunch of storms. It was awesome.

Another little edit. I made one epic run in the afternoon yesterday. Leftovers were as good as the email.

First lift of the day had 3 bama dudes from tuscaloosa on there, they were looking for the green circles from the gondola . Cold out there today (-24* on way to eagle to pick up bag at 7am), sun went away after being out until 10/11ish

Eta: Despite the cold, another great day of skiing. Found a lot of powder in mongolia off shangri-la and in blue sky by pete's. Had an awesome 3 days out here, unfortunately have to leave tomorrow : (. Looks like the weather forecast is in y'alls favor for the upcoming week

I watched a full interview with the guy. Pretty impressive stuff. There have been tons of chair lift accidents this year it seems. Makes me extra vigalante on the rare occasion I wear a pack on the lift. Even experienced skiers like the one at ABasin have been getting caught.

Never understand why people need packs.

Wtf are you carrying? I have my phone, wallet, flask and maybe a couple random things. Fits easily in my coat and pants.

I made one run in RMNP today and it was awesome. My friend was snowshoeing so I had to wait a while for him to get down. I need to break the GoPro out one day and get some footy for the baws. I'm taking it easy until I leave for whistler Thursday

Hope everyone gets some freshies and hits it hard

I wear my backcountry pack at the resorts. Nalgene full of water, couple beers, flask, food, and a few just in case things if I go out of bounds. Also nice to have the straps to carry my board on my back and collapsible poles for hike to terrain

I have worn a pack before. Especially in changing weather conditions it's nice to layer down. I put it in my lap though.

For the most part, I can shove a ton of shite in the mesh pocket on the inside of my jacket for daily skiing.

Whistler, eh? That'll be fun.

I saw the video of that yesterday and recall reading at least two other similar stories over the past month. As someone who has worn a backpack almost every time I ride over the past 3-4 years, it has made me reflect a little. I carry a bag as I bring my lunch each day along with an extra pair of lenses if conditions change, additional gloves and hand warmers and it's nice to layer down if I get too hot out there. A lot of times I have my wife or son with me so I have their lunch as well as sometimes their shoes to change into as well after a day. I can't even tell when I'm riding I'm wearing a bag I'm so used to it.

After these rash of stories though I will continue to wear it but may swing it around to me front side or carry it off the lift to avoid being a YouTube video or news story
