If I'm envisioning the right place I've seen a few slides there before. Everyone be safe out there and hit it hard. I hate being stuck in the damn office on days like this, but BC backcountry and Whistler are on the horizon

ABasin closed for the day at 1 and they sent everybody home, even all employees. They must think an inbounds avy is immenent, natural or after blasting.

ETA: Monarch closed too today.

Pretty epic. Heavy surfy snow but deep in spots. Pretty empty and able to get fresh snow most of the day. Gonna ski the Beave tomorrow and then hopefully make it back up to the Boat but we'll see with the snow.

Almost lost my GoPro when I sent something way bigger than anticipated. Landed it but man was it an impact. Luckily it was really for my landing. Unluckily that made it hard to find my GoPro when it popped off.

I wish we had another angle because that felt like one of the largest hits of my life. My POV video of it is alright but hard to see what happens.

I missed the Steamboat course so I might join ya. We got a hell of an interesting snowpack to study this year.

Finally slowed down getting views on that instagram video. It was crushing views for like 5 days. Just shy of 20k. I

Was it Prima Cornice on the front side, Lovers Leap back in Blue Sky?

I already did mine several years back through CMS in RMNP.

ETA: Checked your link, same class I took at the same place. Good class, and this is a good season to take it too, especially with all this wet heavy snow and wind load we have from these recent storms on top of our famous Colorado persistent weak layer of facets below.

I'll be up in Winter Park for a wedding that weekend anyways. Plus that Sun the 5th is Superbowl Sunday!

Nah. Nothing that actually looked that big but I just sent it hard and the landing drops out. Only bout 15-20 feet if ya stood on top and dropped it there. I felt like at my apex I was close to 30-35 feet oft the ground. I was heavy on adrenaline so measurements could be way off.

Dumping at the Beave. Might bail soon to head back yo ski the boat this afternoon.

This would have been an epic week to be here, and next week is indeed not looking great. I hate planning trips in advance without knowing what the snow will be like when I go. A big storm is going to hit Whistler, but if it keeps moving back I may fly back before the best day of next week. It gives me some pretty fierce anxiety

It just started snowing harder than I've seen...maybe ever in downtown steamboat. I have a team meeting at work. I'm bringing cash to offer for anyone wanting to take my AM shift tomorrow.
