re: Australia - 9 Days Down Under (Uluru, Melbourne, Cairns, Sydney) - CuseTiger
First off, sounds like you have a good plan and I hope you enjoy. I studied abroad in Brisbane 6 years ago and really enjoyed it, only place on your list I didn't get to was Melbourne. Uluru: I did a hiking/camping tour that was awesome. It ended up pouring down rain and our guide was playing Thr...

re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - CuseTiger
It's all good man, I do this in my spare time free of charge  Now in the google flights link I have above, it suggests booking with a travel agent. What you may want to do is book this multicity ticket BPT-FCO and London (LHR)-BPT using the link below. If you follow the link through, you...

re: Two trains of thought, which are you? - CuseTiger
I will say traveling gets to be a pain in the arse at some point so taking two months to do everything you want may work out to your advantage. Changing timezones, jetlag, diverted/delayed flights, aborted takeoffs, snowstorms, airport/airline strikes, lost luggage, etc. have all hit me since jan 1st...

Find a job while youre young where you can travel. I somehow landed a sweet grad student gig where over the past three years I've gone to Germany twice, Switzerland, China, Denmark, Korea, Knoxville, Davis, Dc several times, Austin and Sweden this June, etc. Finding a job with the perk of traveling ...

re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - CuseTiger
Think I might've found your best option and that is out of BPT, not IAH. Let me know if this would work for you $1827 roundtrip on American/British Airways Depart BPT on June 23 at 6:10pm, arrive DFW 7:25pm Depart DFW for London 10:10pm, arrive at 1:15pm Depart London 3:45pm, arrive Rome 7:20...

re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - CuseTiger
Any advice on how we should tackle this (e.g. all one-way segments) and when to look to book would be greatly appreciated
First question: Are there any closer airports to your house than IAH? Not sure which direction you're coming from. If you get off work at 3, you might be able to ...

re: BA nonstop Nola to London - CuseTiger
I was looking at departing London to all those US destinations. If you look at the return flights from the US, they should be about an hour quicker due to tailwinds...

re: Just got told i have shingles... - CuseTiger
Had them in early december (I'm 26), thought it was poison ivy. Didn't hurt a lot but you can definitely tell something isn't right. Took about a week for them to crust over. Not sure where yours are, but as long as it's in a hard to reach spot then it shouldn't be too bad avoiding itching (had mine...

re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - CuseTiger
I would only book this Air France -> American connection if you had 3 or more hours. Having 2 hours to very likely change terminals from 2E/F to wherever american is (2A) you may have to go through security again OP tell me your dates of travel and I'll take a look for you later today. I'm assum...

re: Booking Flight Segments Separately - CuseTiger
What airlines are both flights on? If the first is on air france and the second is air france/delta then you should be okay. If first is air france and second is united, you will be screwed if you miss the connection...

re: BA nonstop Nola to London - CuseTiger
BA flies to Austin, Dallas and Los Angeles (my first guess as to what may be slightly farther than MSY). After investigating further by looking at flight times, London- LAX is clocked in at 11 hr 10 min, DFW 9 hr 50 min, Austin 10 hr, and Nola 10 hr. They're all pretty close timewise. Crazy you can ...

re: BA nonstop Nola to London - CuseTiger
If I had to guess they flew an extra crew to DFW then to MSY, think that's the closest nonstop location they have. Granted those flights are on a 747 so not sure if the crew deadheaded all this way a few days ago and got to spend some time in nola....

re: Best way to find cheap flights? - CuseTiger
Is there a good app or website to use that will simply notify you of any last second flight deals? I would like to take advantage of that if we could, since we can drop what we're doing and go on a moments notice. Anyone have any experience doing anything similar?
Just browse google...

Good for united. They have strict buddy pass rules and I've got a feeling whoever gave the teens those passes will no longer have their non-rev privileges anymore...

re: Benefits of multi-vitamin pills? - CuseTiger
I had been getting sick quite often last year even with getting a flu shot: colds, ear infections, shingles, stomach virus on ny eve, etc. Started taking a multivitamin in mid january and have felt better since (haven't gotten sick). I figured it couldn't hurt to get some extra vitamins that I appar...

re: Is 45 Min enough time to transfer at FCO - CuseTiger
Oh that's the perfect time to leave JFK, shouldn't be many delays at all. A good example is today. The 3:53pm departure JFK-ATL left on time but waited on the tarmac 47 minutes before taking off at 4:39pm. Expected to land in Atlanta at 6:27pm and arrive at 6:31pm. The scheduled arrival time is at 6...

re: Is 45 Min enough time to transfer at FCO - CuseTiger
I have a 50 minute transfer in ATL on Sunday coming from NY
I made it through customs, immigration, baggage recheck, and security in ATL on tuesday in 35/40 minutes. 50 minutes is more than enough time to change terminals using the plane train there. Also delta tends to pad the timin...
