The OT kills me.
They rag on fat people day and day out from the safety of their mom's attic.
Then, when a guy takes control of the situation, by whatever means necessary, they rag on him some more. Pretty clear who the failure is in that situation.
Congrats to the OP for manning up and taking control.

People don't rag on Cdaniel for being fat...

Is surgery taking control? Seems like a quick fix, taking control would be eating less and moving around more, a lifestyle change

You should get some work done to your face. It looks a little pale and flat.

it takes you to reach 400lbs to start thinking you may have a problem? i guess take the easy way out.
once you have to buy bigger clothes you have an issues you should have seen the warning signs.
good luck

Good point. I mean at 400 lbs I guess it kinda is taking control. Pretty tough to bounce back from that weight isn't it? The real challenge is will this individual make that lifestyle change and maintain control.

I mean we could assume based on statistics regarding obesity rates in the south, but this thread has proved that a majority of the OT is, in fact, fat.
The OP apparently is the 20th person to have some sort of weight loss procedure on this board.
Congrats to all of you who are bettering yourselves. You all still disgust me.

There's a difference in being 10-20 pounds overweight, and being 200 pounds overweight. I just think there has to be a complete lack of frick given about your personal well being and to have no respect for yourself. I was 30 pounds overweight at one point, and wanted to kill myself. Now I'm less than 10, and I still know I need to lose it. I just don't understand how someone is more than a thousand percent more overweight than myself and they can't do anything about it before then.

TBH that does baffle me. I just tell myself that I'll never understand it and move on. I also go to my computer (usually here) when my wife watches the 600 lb life show - I just don't understand how it gets to that point and don't want to watch that stuff.
When I get to around 10-15 over what I consider to be ideal body condition/weight I start in on a hardcore mode to get back to normal.

Yep i got up to 180 and felt like a fatass. Ate a little better, exercised half an hour a day and 2 months later back in low 160s with a 6 pack

You are obviously huge but you don't look 400lb+ to, more like 300lbs unless you are really tall. Anyways, congrats on the surgery and good luck going forward!

He was on some kind of meds that made him hold on to a bunch of body fat. I think he works swing shifts at a plant also, so it is rather sedentary. Good thing he got it done and hopefully he can stick to a proper diet from now on.

Also, once you lose some weight you need to get some new gear. A Folgers shirt? Really?

I'd guess 50% of the people commenting in this thread are obese....
Good luck on trying to change your life for your family... Honorable thing to do... Prayers to you and your family as you start this journey...

In his defense, there were no spills on it.
