Updates will be posted at the top every time...
1 year update
Day 1: 407 lbs
1 week: 377 lbs
1 month: 365 lbs
4 months: 328 lbs
7 months: 312 lbs
1 year: 309 lbs
Today marks 1 year since I had my weight loss surgery. Although I've hit a plateau over the last several months I'm still down 98lbs. I started out at 407lbs and am now 309lbs. I will find a way to break through this plateau and get to my goal weight of 250lbs.
-----------------END 1 YEAR UPDATE-----------------
(7 month pic on left taken this morning, day 1 pic on right)
Been a while since I updated this. I'm sure you've all been wondering, right?
Anyway, I'm down 95 lbs as of today. Feeling great. No issues. Back to eating anything I want, just not a whole lot of it. Some foods still give me heartburn and/or reflux but I guess that's just the name of the game from here on out.
-----------------End 7 MONTH UPDATE-----------------

Excuse the sweaty tshirt... Was in out in the yard doing work
Sorry this is a bit late. August was a busy month prepping kids for school and new daycare and just life in general.
I'm now down 79lbs. Feeling great. Exercising more. A lot more active in doing things around the house and with my kids and family.
Can finally eat pretty much anything I want (in small portions, of course). However, anything ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken, meatballs, meatloaf, etc) seems to give me really bad heartburn.
Had my first bit of steak a couple weekends ago. Ate off that ribeye 3 days for lunch and dinner!
-----------------END 4 MONTH UPDATE-----------------
Tomorrow marks one month since my Gastric Sleeve procedure. My weight loss has slowed down a bit since week 1, in which I lost 30lbs. I'm now down a total of 42lbs. Although the weight hasn't been dropping off as quick as week 1, I can tell the inches are still falling off.
I've decided to start tucking in my shirt in these update pictures because the shirt is so baggy, it hides the size decrease in my stomach area.
I've graduated these last few weeks from eating clear liquids and broths only to well cooked veggies, soft & peeled fruits, sweet potatoes, low fat cream soups, low fat mozzarella cheese, and just today I was able to add eggs and multi grain crackers. My biggest issue so far is that as I'm getting used to new foods, I get heartburn. Sometimes very bad...
Other than that, I'm feeling great. I can feel the "lesser toll" from what those extra 40 lbs was doing to my body . Knees and ankles aren't hurting me anymore and going up and down steps doesn't hurt or "wind" me like they used to.
Here are my updated pictures. Day 1 on left. Day 30 on right.
-----------------END 1 MONTH UPDATE-----------------
Week 1 update
Day 1: 407 lbs
1 week: 377 lbs
Surgery last Monday went "textbook" as my Dr put it. Lots of built up air pressure after waking up from anesthesia made for a lot of discomfort in my chest. But it went away fairly quickly. I was up and walking that afternoon and was home resting by noon Tuesday.
My daily intake in week 1 consists of two 20oz flavored protein waters, water, crystal light iced tea and chicken broth. My appetite came back to me around Thurs morning and that's when smelling other foods started to annoy me. But I didn't let it get to me. So week 1 is over and here's the results(if you remember, I was 407 starting out in this journey)

Good luck, bro!
I work with some people who have seen amazing results from bariatric surgery.

And if serious, that surgery is a waste of money. Just get someone to lock you in a room and only feed you four tablespoons of food a day. Because that's how the lap band will be.

Had that surgery exactly a year ago. Down 110 lbs as of yesterday. I had complications with dehydration the first 2 months but once I got past that it's been the best decision ever. Good luck to you.

My dad had lap band couple years ago. No doubt it has added time to his life. Good for you for helping yourself. Wish you he best! Your daughter and wife will be thankful I'm sure!
