We cut open a can of green beans and heat them up like most families do. But every once in a while I will put a few cans in the refrigerator and serve cold. This is what I do. Sliced red onion, good olive oil, balsamic,S&P and maybe some cheese. Does anyone have some ideas just to change things up at the house.

This has the makings of an OT thread.

The green beans reminds me of a canned green bean salad my mother used to make a long time probably from River Road or one of those cookbooks. I haven't had it in a few years, but once every blue moon, I make it. I love the stuff, but it sounds awful. I like the horseradish in the sauce with the beans. I should try it fresh beans.

This isn't the recipe, but it's very close to it.

Either or. I sometimes just use sausage and sometimes mix. I like to use the hot jimmy deans, I like spicy spaghetti.

I just bought a hot and spicy oregano plant. It's delicious. I've been nibbling on the leaves.

I put cans of whole tomatoes in the fridge so I can eat them cold in a bowl.

Had a friend who made tomato sandwiches (bread, mayo and tomatoes) using canned tomatoes. He said you had to be careful because sometimes they would fall through the bread. He would use them to make BLTs also.

I like hogshead cheese in grits. I also like to melt it down in a skillet with some onions, and then roll it up on a corn tortilla with a little sricacha, cilantro, and sour cream.

I swear hog's head cheese makes the best omelets. with just some chives and maybe some parmesan. the gelatin melts and it kind of gives the thing that lip-smacking collagen thing you get from good ribs or something. ridiculous.
