Why not? I am assuming 1099 employees would still be able to utilize pass through entities to receive their income....

Having your W2 sent to an llc instead of yourself, is it possible? - reb13
Just saw that Trump could possibly lower the pass through tax further than the overall tax brackets. Therefore, would I be able to create a pass through entity and have all of the income go there and then subsequently be taxed at the lower rate?...

re: Financial suicide or a good investment? - reb13
That's fine assuming you're buying prime real estate not in the suburbs. It's best to buy as big a home as you can early and ride that growth throughout life as a home is the biggest investment for most people. Ideally you would buy at a better time as most markets are pretty pricey now but ...

re: Cash-flow 44 month MBA vs. Borrow for 22 month program - reb13
44 months is a long time. I'm not saying you will never get through it but that's a lot of important life between 31-35 to have to be focusing on work and school....

re: Any CPAs in transaction advisory around here? - reb13
I think each firm has hubs where their TAS groups sit but those cities would be the most likely. I would just network from the second you got there with people through out the firm. Whether it be TAS, consulting, whatever. They most likely aren't going to let you move full time until you have 3 y...
Yeah, I have already thought about. I am in a bit of a weird spot. Have you seen anyone move from audit after making Manager?
Yes but just by title, they don't manage teams or anything for at least a year.
Would you recommend just trying to transfer over after making Ma...

re: Any CPAs in transaction advisory around here? - reb13
No, there are people from industry, tax, finance, private wealth etc. The norm is obviously audit background but not unheard of. One caveat is that getting in to the group early in your career really requires audit experience, but there are plenty of people with non audit backgrounds they just ha...

re: Any CPAs in transaction advisory around here? - reb13
I'm in TAS, did audit for a few years then moved over. It's way better than audit. However in your situation, I don't foresee your firm allowing you to promote to manager on time if you rotate to TAS before you make manager. On the flip side it's really hard to rotate as a manager because you don't ...
is there really that big a difference between an $8k watch and a cheap watch? Watches only get cool and impressive when you're talking ...

re: Industry expert says one third of U.S. ski resorts to shutter - reb13
I'm about to go up to vail for a week, used points for a flight, buddy has a place in Avon, and still am going to spend $1,000. We bring sandwiches, cliff bars and beers on the mountain so we don't have to buy anything on the mountain. When I go in to the lodges I see these massive families and ...
