quote:

Every one of Yogi Berra's quotes such as

Heard this story about Berra when he was managing the Yankees. He gets a call from the GM in the dugout before the game.

GM: "Just a heads up Yogi. We've given permission for a British writer to visit the dugout. He's here doing research for a book about American baseball. Answer any questions he has."

Yogi: "Sure thing."

The game starts. No British guy. He's tied up in traffic. He finally arrives in the 5th inning comes up to Berra, apologizes for being late and asks "So, when did the game start?"

Yogi: "I tink it was back in da 1800s."

Groucho Marx: "Why would I want to join any organization that allows people like me to join?"

All of Mr. Oscar Wilde's quotes. The greatest Irish writer in the history of that grand country. Visiting his grave, with a bottle of Jameson's, is on my bucket list.

Damn, that is the 10th quote listed on this thread that I already had on my list.

Here are a few more from my list. Hope it isn't repeating but I'm not gonna re-read the thread:

"If you are not attractive by 20, strong by 30, rich by 40 or wise by 50 you shall never be attractive, strong, rich or wise."

"Indeed the safest road to Hell is the gradual one…the gentle slope, soft underfoot, without sudden turnings, without milestones, without signposts.”…CS Lewis, The Screwtape Letters

"If the rich could pay for others to die for them, the poor would make a nice living".
…Yiddish proverb

"Always wear a seatbelt…and if you too poverty then have yo chirren hold bricks in they laps while you driving"…Shirley Q. Liquor
