Miles told reporters today that he would be surprised that Hill made this trip with the Tigers.
Miles showing his hand. Patterson not showing his hand, but if his prize player takes the field, he'll being showing he's an #ss.
Might want to check your source again...

Correction: What Les said about Jeremy Hill was he would NOT be surprised if he made the trip. So he is exp to make trip. I misunderstood.
Looks like you're the #ss...

The only reason that this is an issue at all is because TCU's Coach made comments about Hill, which were turned into a national news story that portrayed LSU and Les Miles in a negative light, even though The game hasn't even been played, and Jeremy Hill hasn't even stepped foot on the field.
Why do you hold anonymous LSU fans on the Rant to a higher standard than Patterson?
I mean, if anyone gave the greenlight for speculation and moral grandstanding about whether a player was going to play or not based on an unclear suspension status, it was Gary Patterson.
GP answered a direct question and said that he would never put a player suspension up for a team vote. When he was asked what he thought about the Hill situation, he said he took it as a sign of respect, because if y'all were playing some cupcake it would likely be a nonstory. He was right on both.
This whole thing was blown way out of proportion from the start by the media, simply because it's the off-season and they try to make a story out of every little thing they can. The fact that people are questioning either coaches' integrity is laughable IMO. I just can't wait for actual football to be played so we have something of actual substance to talk about.
Haha y'all are ridiculous. The official word is that Fields is still suspended. When Pachall was arrested and suspended last year, GP originally said he would still suit up and stand on the sidelines so that he couldn't hide and would have to be with the teammates that he let down and face the torture of being dressed but not being able to help the team on the field. He later decided to keep Pachall away from the game completely because it would've been too big of a distraction in that particular situation, but this could very well be a part of the punishment for Fields.
The only way I see Fields playing is if this suspension was in fact put in place by the university rather than GP, and Fields won an appeal. I don't see how this is hypocritical in any way. All GP said was that he wouldn't ever put a player suspension up for a team vote because that wouldn't teach lessons. He's right. But if Fields was wrongfully suspended by the school, then there is no reason he shouldn't play. And for all of you comparing the Fields situation to Hill's, well, y'all are pretty friggin dumb. Hill has been arrested and convicted of two crimes. Fields apparently had a beer in his dorm room. Apples and oranges.
This news that Fields will suit up is about the same as Miles saying today that Hill will be traveling with the team. The fact remains that neither player is likely to play a down.

Is TCU starting two freshman on the OL?
There aren't any freshmen starting on the OL

im guessing ur o was just that bad last season.
i know this qb is supposed to be good. just dont think you guys have enough talent elsewhere
Our O was difficult to watch last season...especially after having a very good offense the previous few years. We went into last year returning 3 backs that rushed for 700+ yards the year before, expecting to have a very dangerous rushing attack. Then Ed Wesley declared for the supplemental draft for family reasons, Waymon James (my favorite frog and an underrated back) went out for the season in game 2, and Matthew Tucker battled ankle problems all season. That left us giving the majority of the carries to our 4th and 5th string RB's all year, making a true freshman our leading rusher. We were so thin at RB before ISU that we moved Boykin to RB that week to get some carries, and then Pachall decided he was only a couple blocks away from home so it'd be safe to drive drunk. Dumb. Had to use Boykin the remaining 9 games, where his inexperience and poor throwing motion got us in a lot of trouble, especially behind an inexperienced offensive line. Our talent last year was at WR, but we weren't able to get them the ball.
All said and done, I think we lost about 20-22 players that were on our 2-deep to off-field issues and were forced to start 75% true freshmen and sophomores. The defense shined as a young unit, but the offense just didn't do enough to help us win more games. But, even with everything we went through, we still took every game to the wire except OSU, and we got a lot of guys experience that normally wouldn't have, giving us a bit more depth this year.
As for our offense this year--obviously Pachall is back, which is a huge boost. Guy's got true talent. Boykin is said to be night/day compared to last season, so you can expect to see him in the mix somehow too. Waymon James returns at RB, and he's got NFL talent, Aaron Green finally gets to play after sitting out due to transfer rules--he was a 5 star and a top recruit out of high school, and we return Catalon, our leading rusher, who is most likely our 3rd string now. Receiver has a hole left after Josh Boyce left to be Tom Brady's new favorite target, but we've got some young talent with a lot of size and speed to catch balls. Everything hinges on our offensive line. If they can finally mesh this year, the offense can be its old self again.
Defense should be dominant this year. LB is our only concern, but apparently there are some young guys raising eyebrows at that position, so hopefully we'll be okay there. Overall, there's a ton of optimism in Fort Worth. GP said this is the best he's had since the Rose Bowl, which is nice. Last year was tough with so many personnel losses and youth, but that's football. They're all a year older now and we have some great talent back that wasn't available last year, so I think that 7-6 team is not what you should expect to see in 3 weeks. But that's just my take. Typed a lot because nobody has really explained in detail what we went through last year and what we bring back.

I agree LSU will win, though it will likely be a lot closer than many here think, but comparing to TCU to UW is ridiculous.
Agreed. Washington? Really?? I don't think Oregon's a good comparison either. Completely different playing styles, completely different coaching styles, completely different players. The only thing we have in common with these teams is that we believe we have what it takes to beat LSU. I'd say the odds are 60/40 against us, but I think we can do it. GP is a freak of nature when it comes to preparation and gameplan, and LSU has't seen a defensive scheme like TCU's (that I know of). If our offense is back to its old self with our true starters in and if our D can force LSU to beat us through the air, I think we have a good shot. Should be a good game regardless, and I'm excited to play against one of the nation's elite programs--always a good measuring stick for a team like us trying to take the next step as a program. I just wish we could keep the home and home series rather than the one-and-done...I was dying to experience Death Valley and having the tigers at our house would've been pretty neat.

Don't worry we aren't going to talk about your schedule because its alot less glamorous after week 1. The Big 12 sucks!!! You suck! No one is scared of a frog and just because you put horns or put killer in front of it doesn't make it scary or cool. the fact is it's a fricking frog. Knock it off the window and don't let it pee on you!!!

OU is JV? Taxes is JV? OSU is JV? KState is JV? WVU is JV? Not saying any of them are on the level of a Bama or an LSU. They aren't world beaters, but they've all had success, historically and recently. Try to pull your head out and be realistic, por favor.
He probably thinks we're still in the Mountain West

Didn't 4 of their players get arrested last year for slinging dope? I think another got arrested a few weeks ago for burglary
All four players were immediately expelled from the university, they were selling small amounts of pot. The one arrested for burglary was David Jenkins, a CB that transferred from LSU. He was immediately dismissed as well.
The only player on TCU's roster right now (at least to my knowledge) that's been arrested is Pachall, and that was for a DUI last fall. He dis-enrolled from TCU completely to attend rehab and missed the final 9 games of the season.
