re: Les Miles Winning Percentage at LSU

I agree, Miles is a good coach, and even a better recruiter than he is a coach. I know that, overall, his winning percentage is the best LSU has had......but.
My issue is, that with all that talent, why isn't the team better prepared and better motivated in games that we just pi-s away?
I think it all started in the BCS National Championship Game in N.O. when LSU just did not even show up for that game!!
Then, the following year with all that talent...
Then this year losing at least 2 games we should have won.
I personally think Miles is getting a little burned out-I think he is having fun coaching-I think his emphasis has shifted to having fun-but the "edge" is no longer there!
I am in no way suggesting that LSU should get rid of Les Miles.
The raw talent is there-Met has it! BUT.....it has to be developed! It has to be developed in practice-repetitions, ect.
Instead...it's the dive play off left tackle!!!!
You know the one i am talking about....the one the other team is waiting on!
No...Miles is not on the field! But it is Mile's responsibility to do whatever is necessary to "develop" a QB. Emphasis has totally been on the running game-go back and look at the stats for the past 4-5 years and check the averages....at best 30% passing, and 70% run, with a whole lot of 20% passing and 80% run.
I would suspect that "if" we were to recruit a high powered OC....that he would decline the offer!
Intensity and commitment!! He is coasting and having fun-he won his National Championship! Also, he wants to show people the "his" team can run the ball "down anybody's throat"!
Interesting post.....BUT.....LSU should have won the National Championship last year as well as this year! We clearly had the quality teams! And this year we managed to "urinate away" 3 games that easily could and should have been won-even with all the injuries.
But we won neither year!! Why? TOTAL Lack of mental prepardness, which is the responsibility of the coaching staff, and also because of Miles offensive coaching philosophy, and his lack of control over his players with all the player rule violations year in and year out!! You won't see much of that type of crap with Saban's players!

I am a devout LSU fan-maybe too much so that I have become too critical!
The FACT remains...we should have won both years!!!
I personally do not think that Miles still has the "INTENSITY" and "drive" to win another National Championship! He has a very good overall program-but the desire is gone.
