re: Collingsworth hates LSU

I'm trying to figure out if this is a southern thing, a Louisiana thing or an LSU thing - but this hypersensitivity in regard to EVERY word spoken by an announcer is amazing. It's like you guys turn on the t.v. and are just hanging on every word to try and find some (imagined) put down or insult of your team/player/former player. Where does this paranoia come from? Have you all been so put down and disrespected throughout your lives that what a television commentator says has that much impact? Do you really require the validation of a t.v. talking head? Amazing.

Hey East Bank Tiger: Where are you guys hooking up on Saturday? I'll come down and cheer you on and you all can heap some major abuse on a USC fan. Seriously, it would be fun (I think) to meet some of you all and eat some crawfish and gumbo - or whatever it is you guys munch on. I have tried the Abita (you can buy it at Lee's Liquor here in Las Vegas) and its not too bad!

Hey, Stewart and the rest of the learning impaired on this board: THERE ARE FOUR #1 SEEDS! The original poster was nuts on with his prediction. Deal with it and quit making an arse of yourself.
"idiot" "moron" "USWho"

Come on, Tiger bait. Can't you come up with something better than that? Whether or not I watched the game or not is not germane to this discussion. What is pertinent is that virtually every team's fans that lost a game today - or yesterday, or a week ago or a year ago - blame the officiating. What is ammusing is that when a team wins a game against a team whose fans complain about the officiating - well, winning teams fans all find it laughable and poor sportsmanship that they would react this way. Don't believe me? Read the posters reaction on this board when a team's fans who LSU just beat come on here and complain about the refs and see how they get treated. Amazing how perspective has everything to do with how we react.

King Joey: Do you really need to resort to the ad hominen attacks? Don't you have a solid enough belief in your arguments that they can stand on their own merits without you having to resort to the name-calling? I guess we know the answer to that question. You are adept at criticizing yet offer no solutions. What is your alternative to our current system of hiring human beings to officiate college sporting events? You remind me of the radio talk show hosts who spend hour upon hour throwing out criticism of whatever the "flavor of the day" is yet offer no realistic alternatives. Come on, King Joey. Dispense with the name-calling and offer something constructive for us to munch on.

The fact is that the SEC refs are incompetent

"won't be seeing any SEC officials in the NCAA tournament."

I've got news for you. Fans from the Pac-10, Big-12, Big East, Big-10, ACC and virtually every other conference in the country are saying the same things about their officials. So, how do you propose to officiate the hundred + games in the upcoming tourney when there are no good officials available? I'd love to hear your solution to this "problem." :violin:

To all of you who are constantly whining about the "poor officiating" after your losses: Misery loves company. Just visit the board(s) of any other losing team across the country (good place to start: Arizona St. They lost to my Trojans today and, of course, it was the fault of the referees.) Don't stop there. Go to the NC, UConn, UCLA, Oklahoma, Auburn, Michigan St, etc., etc. boards and you will quickly realize that these corruptible officials are all around us. I think we should cancel all college athletics, as I have come to the conclusion from browsing this board as well as others that there are no good officials anywhere on the planet. Pathetic.

Lots and lots of teams are screwed by bad officiating.......................

Gee, do you think this might be a result of what you conspicuously point out earlier in your post -that "Referees are human beings?" Maybe, just maybe, they make mistakes just like every other human being walking around on this planet (except you, no doubt) and it has absolutely nothing to do with "subconscious preferences, corruptable weakness, etc." Oh my gosh. That would put the kibosh on your conspiracy theories. Can't have that, now can we? :banghead:

Bulk Logan: So what you're saying is that the players have a more mature, realistic, objective ability to accurately assess what the main factors are that contribute to a loss and that obsessive, irrational, biased fans such as yourself do not. I'll agree with you on this.

Link? Are you reading this thread or just picking out the SoCal fan to respond to? Maybe you can find someone to explain to you what King Joey is saying. :pimp:

The sad and scary part of this thread is that King Joey actually subscribes to the theory that there is some kind of conspiracy against LSU sports teams carried out by the officials. I've read his posts before and he really believes there are subversive elements in our society  that conspire to make sure LSU loses games - not just basketball, but football and baseball, also. Of course, he never offers any sound evidence for how and why this occurs and why LSU sports teams are singled out. :violin:
I have to chuckle at these posts lamenting the "poor officiating" in the SEC. As a fan of a Pac-10 team, I thought that the Pac-10 had the worst officials in the country. At least you would think so by browsing the message boards. But the one common denominator that seems to apply to threads about the "bad officiating" is that they appear on the board(s) of the losing team(s). Very seldom do fans of a winning team spend much time discussing the refs, they just want to focus celebrating a win. It's interesting, but fans in virtually every conference in the country feel that their refs "suck." Always after a loss.
