I'm torn on this one - there's two assholes in my apt complex that royally piss me off with their vehicles.
Living in an apartment complex, now THAT is trashy.
Considering the high number of non-violent offenders that we lock up... I would say that we should provide for basic sanitation and healthcare. Then again... Alabama is kind of a 3rd world country.

Interdasting... I lost big time on HK when it fell from $6 to $4 last year and haven't really followed it since. Might be a good time to look at them again. Maybe Floyd Wilson can pull out another one.

As someone who once worked closely with the cotton industry I can say... that is the oldest, most common joke in the book. Brought up by blacks or whites, in front of both blacks and whites, many times.
Wow, I wouldn't have thought this but it makes sense. Get ready for this to be all over the TV for the next 2.5 news cycles though.

This is all market specific. There is no right or wrong answer and even in a given market, it changes.
This, I have owned in Houston for 3 years now. It has been a great decision for me overall. My note is much less than what a comparable rental would be plus I'm building equity and the property is currently appreciating. Its also much nicer not having to worry about moving or re-negotiating rent every 1-2 years. Property taxes are the down side though.

Obvious Troll
I am about to start a new job in a few weeks. I was contacted by a headhunter that set up the first interview the next week, then the week after that was a second interview. The verbal offer came in but it took another 4 weeks (???) to receive the official paperwork and another 2 weeks to clear background check. I thought this was a long process but it sounds pretty short for your experience.

FWIW I read the book and the plot was very straight forward leading up to one twist at the end.
The trailers look like the movie encompasses more ground than the book but the same premise, I'm looking forward to it.

Banks have some kind of system/formula where they can loan out every dollar in savings something like 8 times...I know nothing of it other than hearing that info. I think they borrow from the some financial system which only charges them something like 1% and they loan it out as high as 9% (example) That's why they give some accounts interest on deposits and cd's, etc...because they are using that money to back the loans they get to make loans to individuals and businesses. I think that's the main reason you are hammered for cashing in a cd early. That money was earmarked to back their transactions... I'm no banker, by a long shot, but in basic terms, I think thats close.
This. It's called fractional reserve banking. A bank can loan out all but 10% of its total deposits, for instance if a bank has $100M in assets it must only keep $10M on hand to give back to depositors at any given time. The other $90M is working for the bank at the interest rate it was loaned out under.
Banks can keep such low cash reserves because their deposits are insured by the FED (FDIC).
