Oklahoma and Boise State seem like bargains
Technically, we have a come-from-behind win over #3 Oregon, right?

If we win out...

Would we be the first team in history to beat FOUR top 3 teams in the same season?
Yes, I believe the outlaw line was 42.5
If we played Stanford, some of these guys would say JL > AL.... Truth is people have trouble imagining a power back with breathtaking speed, which is exactly what Trent Richardson is. I am a Tiger fan through and through who believes that Spencer Ware is not in the same class as Trent Richardson.

re: ESPN Loudest Stadium

Honestly guys, the loudest LSU game I've been to in the last two years (out of 8 games) was at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium this year. The '07 Florida game was by far the loudest I've ever heard though

re: Dear Jim Hawthorne....

For the record, I have no problem with Jim Hawthorne at all. When I listen to games on the radio, I have no problem following the action and a lot of his slip-ups are quickly corrected - no problem. I think it's just fun for people to pick on him because that's how a lot of people on here are, but really the school could do worse than Hawthorne.
I always thought 2011 would be our next NC year, what with UF, Auburn and Arky at home. Oregon game has me a little worried though

Rahim Alem :yack:

This isn't an all-time Tigers or all-decade Tigers team. I enjoyed the hell out of watching Alem play, moreso than Lavalais or Webster. While I appreciate the things those guys did for the program and recognize their excellence, I subjectively liked Alem's style of play better. Going by your standards, the original poster's endorsement of Andrew Hatch should have given you a heart attack.

Hey, they were my favorites

Like I said, it would not be fair to list anyone in previous decades because I spent the first part of my life as an avid basketball fan and nothing else. I was always too small to play football so I never got into it until high school.

I won't post blurbs about each one, and I wasn't into football at all until around 2000, so yeah.

QB - JaMarcus Russell
RB - Jacob Hester / Alley Broussard
WR - Josh Reed / Early Doucet / Dwayne Bowe
TE - DeAngelo Peterson
OL - Ben Wilkerson / Ciron Black (pre-2009)
DT - Kyle Williams / Glenn Dorsey / Drake Nevis
DE - Marcus Spears / Rahim Alem
LB - Darry Beckwith / Harry Coleman / Kelvin Sheppard
S - Craig Steltz / LaRon Landry
CB - Chevis Jackson / Patrick Peterson / Tyrann Mathieu
K - Colt David

re: 2010 Defense > 2007 Defense??

I think that by season's end this defense will compare favorably to '03's. The fact that they were NC's makes it hard to be objective.

re: 2 minute offense

Posted by Skytzo on 10/10/10 at 11:26 pm to
I've always wondered why more teams don't run a permanent two-minute offense, given its general success rate. Theonly reason I can think of is that it would require a deep defense because the other team would usually have the ball longer, but LSU has a very deep defense. I would consider running it randomly if I were LM. Just gives opposing teams one more thing to prepare for.

re: Lee-JJ drive summaries

Seeing those drives broken down makes me believe that We will win a national championship this year or next with Lee at the helm.
<100 yards would be great, but I want a shutout more than anything. If we turn the ball over, they can score with little or no offense. Zero turnovers and zero points allowed is what I would love to see out of this game.
I'd say at this point, he's damn near redeemed. Two consecutive game-winning drives in the fourth quarter can work wonders for you

re: JL as an NFL prospect

I have a standing bet with a friend that Lee will make an NFL roster or practice squad
I expected a good bit of soreness, but not from such an overwhelming number. Grown men doing that in front of their kids, too. Makes me kinda sick

I drove 8.5 hours to Gainesville...

and can honestly say that the majority of Florida fans were completely classless in defeat. Before the game, most were nice and welcomed us to Gainesville (although I wasn't offered a bite of food or bit of drink by tailgaters). After the game, I was insulted by damn near everyone I made eye contact with. They really came off as arrogant, sore losers. I hope that we never give off the same vibe and remain gracious and humble in victory and defeat. :geauxtigers:
