re: Tuscaloosa Marine Shale

Was the recent leasing in Point Coupee by Anadarko who is targeting the Austin Chalk and not the TMS? If so have they abandoned the play due to poor results? We leased with Anadarko in October 2010 across the river in WF. Just 10 miles north everyone is leased with Devon or Encana, both have formed units in the area. Does the geology change in southern WF and Pointe Coupee so dramatically operators will not target the TMS in this area?

Any idea which operator is leasing in this area?

Anyone have info on current lease terms in the Felicianas and Woodville areas?
I suggest you sit down with an advisor and let him review your transcript, have your boss write a letter detailing your work history. I was in your situation about ten years ago, and was surprised by how helpful they were for an unconventional student working full time.

You may want to check with the dept of agriculture, they will reimburse land owners 50% for land prep, planting, and spraying.

Thanks for the reply; I was speaking with a gentleman several months ago who retired from the industry. His advice was to not hold my breath until we begin to see significant investment in infrastructure associated with the developing plays. I assume he was referring to the transportation of oil and gas? What will be the method(s) of moving the oil, provided the production rate is good?

I have very limited knowledge of the TMS, but have a small mineral interest in the play and have been trying to follow developments. Stumbled across this article LINK
Is the expansion of this NuStar facility related to TMS and AC activity?

Yes, my children’s grandparents contribute to their 529 accounts and receive the same tax benefits we as parents do. The START program also offers “earning enchantments” by matching up to 14% of yearly contributions. The match you receive is based on your annual income.
