Mathieu should certainly be in Heisman discussion so far. Tough to see him ultimately getting it--when Charles Woodson won it in 97, he got a big boost from taking offensive snaps, and scoring on returns.
But guys in the NFL like Troy Polamalu are raising awareness for game-changing defensive standouts, so maybe college folks will eventually get on board.
