I'd recommend getting dropped off on the West side of the stadium, as there is tailgating and bars on that side. No bars within walking distance on the East side of the stadium (but a lot of tailgating). The Fishbone Grill is right across the street (Collins) on the West Side of Cowboys Stadium, and is having a tailgate party. Other chains like Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters are a short walk up Collins from there, but a little further away from the Stadium.
Can park in a Rangers lot starting at 6am, and work your way over to Lot 4 for ESPN Gameday. More info HERE
They might stop and ask, but if you're not deep frying a turkey you should be okay.

Nothing special, but there's one called BoomerJacks or Boomerangs or something like that at the strip mall at I-30 and Collins (down the street from the Stadium, across from Hooters.

...and if J. Gilligan's and Humperdinks are full, Fishbone Grill has an all-inclusive party going on right across the street from the Stadium:

This site has a lot of information about tailgating at and around Cowboys Stadium (I've posted it on a few other threads). They advocate private lots, where there are no restrictions against Cajun microwaves (or tailgating on pavement). Some of the private lots on the East side of the stadium are office buildings, and have more trees, but the West side seems to be pretty much concrete (businesses). I'm going to a lot on the East side and am hoping to get some shade.

Was up for the Cotton Bowl and did a little bar hopping myself. On Collins St. there are a lot of bars; many chains like Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings, and a few other in a strip mall near I-30 and Collins (all a short walk from the Stadium). The closest I found is the Fishbone Grill, also on Collins and directly across the street from the Stadium. The only thing I could find on them was a link for a tailgate party on Saturday.
8 going to the game, but another ~12 coming out at 8am for ESPN gameday and RV tailgating here.
That's the rules for the "Official" Jerry Jones-controlled lots. That's why I tailgated in a privately-owned lot. Cowboys Tailgate is an unofficial site that has tailgating information for all the lots around the stadium.

"Official" lots don't open very early, but private lots open much earlier, so there will be a lot of tailgating going on. See CowboysTailgate.com for more info on that. Also, the bars around the stadium will also be packed all day long - so I wouldn't be too worried about a lack of partying.
I tailgated in private lots for the Saints Thanksgiving game last year starting at 7 am (a full 8 hours before kickoff). More info through the UNofficial tailgating website of Cowboys Stadium. The key is being in the PRIVATE lots, not Jerry Jones lots!!!
Yes, this is a good deal. Check out this link to same lot - $22. It will be $20 for drive up to that lot on gameday, so $10 is quite a deal for a reserved spot in that lot.
I'd check out the West End of Dallas, or downtown Ft. Worth.

Tailgating will be in full force, just like it was for the Cotton Bowl - maybe better because the private lots will be empty all day long since it's not a work day and the weather should be better. Cowboys Stadium parking lots have pretty restrictive tailgating rules, but the private lots aren't so bad according to this site with unofficial Cowboys Stadium tailgating information.

I'm tailgating in a private lot. The private lot I booked says it opens 6 hours before gametime, but for the Saints game last year I started before the lot owner showed up and it was no problem (lot was empty since it was a weekend/holiday). I found the lot through an unofficial Dallas Cowboys parking and tailgating website last year.

Although the rules in Cowboys-owned lots are pretty restrictive, there are a ton of privately-owned lots where the rules are more lax. Check out Cowboys Tailgate for a comparison.

Private Lots
Website/Purchase Parking: Private Lot Parking
Price: $16.50-$192.50
Rules: Varies by lot, but generally more lax than Cowboys (tailgating on concrete permitted)
Although tailgating in the Cowboys lots and Texas Stadium is restricted, there are plenty of private lots around that open much earlier, according to CowboysTailgate.com. I bought a pass for a lot on the West side of the stadium through that site.
