Any news on the state of river traffic going forward?
Posted by CUTIGER on 5/17/11 at 7:20 pm
Are barges going to be able to carry products to and from Baton Rouge and the other refineries in the next week or two?
Any update on the status of the refinery. I used that elevation map from LSU AG and if it is accurate, all that area down by the river will be under 5 or 6 feet of water at 45 feet which is what I understand the crest will be on may 22 IF they open the Morganza.
What all are they shutting down? Can't they continue to run most of the plant using pipelines?

Thanks for those maps. The second one is great in that you can select various points on a property and get elevations for all of the points individually.
Is the opening of the Morganza spillway basically a done deal and if so, what is the projected crest level?

Do any of y'all know what its status is going forward? Also, is it protected by a levee? If not, what is the elevation of the working parts of the refinery?
Thanks in advance and best of luck you everyone in Baton Rouge.
