re: Question about refs tonight

WVU fans are pumped about having SEC refs.

Anytime there is remotely a Big Hit in the Big East..they call a personal foul.

SEC is used to big hits, and the refs won't call it.

Should be fun.
WVU will be crazy, but you're right LSU has heard it before.

It will be good though. Our 60k does sound more like 80k though when we get going.

remember, the WVU offense was inept too
I would love to be drinking with some LSU people tonight talking football. Would be great.

Repeat, sorry about the Jersey trash, we all hate them too.
It isn't 100% yet..only thing 100% is the 8pm kickoff on ABC

NOT confirmed the whole Gameday crew will be in Morgantown the entire day.
Arkansas vs. Alabama is CBS @ 3:30 correct?

Obviously LSU is going to be insanely hard to beat

The atmosphere at Mountaineer Field will be insane, especially with the addition of your fans

I'd recommend wearing purple, as to not fit in with our gold shirts, as we're having a "Gold Rush" with our all gold unis and crowd in all gold

The only way, I believe, we defeat LSU, is if we can create turnovers, get decent returns on special teams to shorten our field, and hope in gods name you don't just run it with Ware all game long

Here's to a good game and a GREAT time in Morgantown for our fans and yours, regardless of outcome

Honor West Virginia’s Mining Legacy at the “We Remember" Mountaineers on the Bayou Brunch on Tuesday Sept. 20th through Saturday Sept. 24

MORGANTOWN, WV – On Tuesday September 20th through Saturday, Sept. 24, WVU and LSU fans are invited to put the rivalry on hold from 7:30-11 a.m. and join together for a special breakfast to commemorate the miners who lost their lives at the Upper Big Branch mine explosion and support the West Virginia Mining community.

The "We Remember Mountaineers on the Bayou Brunch” will be held at the Richwood Grill, located at 318 Richwood Avenue in Morgantown. All profits and tips will go to RememberTheMiners.org, a grassroots public awareness effort designed to honor the legacy of coal mining and pay tribute to all miners.

About the Event

The "We Remember" Mountaineers on the Bayou Brunch was the brain child of Four-Star Louisiana Chef Steve Herbert.

Herbert, who operates the Abita Springs Cafe in Abita Springs, LA, was inspired by the similarities in the rivals' cultures in this anticipated matchup in Touchdown City.

"WVU and LSU fans were voted the worst fan bases in all of college football by GQ, a magazine that probably doesn't sell many subscriptions in our two states. Yet, everyone seems to get along on the two fan bases,” he said. “Maybe the rest of America doesn't understand that the two regions both had a unique culture that was different from the rest of America.”

The menu will be a mesh of traditional and international morning dishes, presented in the unique style and flavors of Louisiana cuisine and created with fresh food offerings from West Virginia.

“I started realizing how the Upper Big Branch mining explosion and the BP oil spill last year had a lot in common,” said Herbert. “People were working in dangerous situations extracting fuel out of the ground and when something goes wrong, there's not really anywhere to go.”

“It's about the miners, NOT us,” he continued. “This collaborative effort between the opposing fan bases, benefitting an organization seeing to the success of the blue collar people of a similar culture, should be an inspiration to us all. It reminds us that everything that happens on that field is all business, but what happens in the stands can become forever memorable.”

The event is sponsored by TheMountaineerNation.com,Tigalaya.com, and the WVU Alumni Association, in partnership with the Richwood Grill and Chef Marion Ohlinger.

Reservations and Special Appearances

Reservations can be made by calling the Richwood Grill at 304-292-1888 and will be accepted for Tuesday, Sept. 20, through Saturday, September 24th. While reservations are encouraged, they are not required.

Appearances at the event will include Alumni along with celebrity appearances by staff and Alumni athletes from both WVU and LSU.

Thank you, chefs, for being a reminder that there are Mountaineers in every heart. Come taste the Bayou on Sept. 24!
