re: Buddy Songy to get new show on 1590am

Never was a fan of Songy, really. But it sucks to see the 1210 guys get the ax like that.
You like to have local options, even if it only a bunch of "experts" finding a million ways to rehash the same LSU news. I actually liked the recruiting news on Songy's show every Wednesday. Now, it's only really the few local shows on 104.5 that are true LSU homers b/c they have the contract and won't talk bad about their biggest moneymaker.
ClearChannel's fall in BR and Guaranty's rise both continue. With Guaranty having LSU, the Saints and ESPN, that's three strikes and out for 1210. ClearChannel saw the writing on the wall. Soon, they'll probably shut down WJBO and just keep WFMF and WYNK, which are probably their only profitable stations. ClearChannel has a bazillion stations nationwide. This is nothing for them. They could pull out of BR altogether and not miss a beat.
I don't see any of the 1210 on-air guys going to 104.5. Maybe Jordy, but they wouldn't put him on in the mornings. Mike and Mike is pretty popular. Maybe replace The Herd w/Jordy or even Ott (who I'm not much of a fan of either). Condon and Songy are both SOL when it comes to landing on 104.5. I see that Ott will remain on Pelican for TV and will contribute to 690 AM in NOLA. As far as Krysan, he has Pelican TV, so he should be fine.
I figured Songy would land on KKAY. He's buddies with Matt Dunn, whose syndicated show airs on there, and Troy LeBoeuf, who works for KKAY as well. I grew up in that area. KKAY's not much. Mostly gospel/religious programming and occasional sports. I'm sure Songy will be there until another gig becomes available, but with only one sports station in BR now that we know won't hire him, that's looking pretty slim.
Hope all those guys - including the weekend guys and board ops - land on their feet doing something, radio or not.
