Makes sense, the computers love the Big 12. But OU loses some luster without Broyles.

National Championship LSU vs

Some logic if.....

Oklahoma St. losses to OU. (OU gets nod over Ok St.) OK St. out

OU has bad loss to TT and does not have a conference championship game. OU is out

Stanford losses to Oregon. Stanford is out.

Clemson has bad loss to Gtech. Out

That leaves Alabama, Oregon and Boise st.

Alabama's has a 3 point loss in OT to the #1 team. But the loss came at home and they will not have the conference championship game to help them.

Oregon has 13 point loss at a neutral site to the #1 team. But they will have won the Pac 12 and have the conference championship game to help their ranking.

Undefeated Boise St.

Who gets the nod?

And the guy knows the territory for Texas recruiting.
Add to the list Terry Bowden and Major Applewhite.
"First off, despite conflicting reports, WR coach Billy Gonzales said that he would not pursue the OC opening, which certainly makes it sound as if Les Miles will indeed hire someone from outside the program.

Randy Rosetta of the Baton Rouge Advocate offers a seven-pack of possible candidates, most of whom we mentioned on Thursday: Jacksonville Jaguars WR coach Todd Monken, a Miles assistant at Oklahoma State and LSU; Washington OC Doug Nussmeier, a former New Orleans Saints QB; Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB coach Steve Logan, who worked with Miles at Colorado; Tennessee OC Jim Chaney, who was Saints QB Drew Brees' OC at Purdue; Baltimore Ravens OC Cam Cameron, a longtime Miles colleague; and former Louisville coach Steve Kragthorpe.

Rosetta also says not to be surprised if the following four names are linked to the opening: TCU co-OC Justin Fuente, Oklahoma RB coach Cale Gundy, former Colorado coach Gary Barnett and Green Bay Packers QB coach Tom Clements.

As for timing, Derek Ponamsky of BayouBengalsInsider.com says that sources tell him that Miles is in no rush to make a hire because the offensive half of the recruiting class is in good shape. Miles is expected to bring in several candidates over the next few days, and one source says that Gonzales remains a candidate despite what is said publicly.

This seems to contradict what Ponamsky reported on Thursday -- that Miles had already spoken with four candidates, with Arizona QB coach Frank Scelfo the only name Ponamsky could confirm."
