As one listens to the crying about the committee’s decisions from all sectors it becomes apparent that the problem is people. People and their biases, and favoritism will constantly obstruct valid results. The BCS concept was tried, and although it had flaws, it showed some potential promise. I feel that the only way to develop a system that works is to take all the sports announcers, media people, ADs, and TV mouth pieces out of the picture. Cold data including all aspects of the games, strength of schedule and results analytics should be analyzed by AI without any human interference. The results should be irrefutable.
I find it interesting that only some of the paid employees are accepting responsibility for the ongoing problems. If there has been weeks of preperation and dedicated prep for a game that yields a plan of action, where is the actual failing? Perhaps this overal picture should be put under a focused microscope. Something is missing and it is not part of the usual excuses we hear all the coaches voice after every poor performance.
Let Miles go and put "O" in as interim coach. Save what is possible of the season and preserve the opportunity for a decent recruiting class. The NC is most likely gone and the "H" trophy is lost. We not only can't coach a quarterback, we recruit them based on some unknown decisions that are not based on any skill analysis. Then we remain loyal to the substandard play and make continually ridiculous excuses for it.
Agree with TX Tiger and feel LSU is the superior coaching job with great potential for another NC. Why step into a disaster on probation that will expect a return to greatness overnight? Why chance ending a career in failure when you have success in hand? Sounds like snatching defeat right out of the jaws of victory.
Just hope our AD is more proactive than Michigans AD. Recruiting depends on quick action.
