re: "I think the best player on the field is the honey badger"-Desmond Howard

I don't think he's the best player on the field for LSU, I think Claiborne is...and his pure cover skills kinda got exposed during the WVU because Austin made a lot of big plays for them when the HB was manned up with him....that said he's a really good athlete that wreaks havoc on opposing offenses by creating turnovers and backside blitzes seem to be a specialty of his and he talks way to much

At looking stats comparison, the strength of schedule plays a huge role in running the numbers up...but that's ok, its not worth getting in a pissing contest over,..Richardson will get his numbers, ...but...LSU will win the game..you have to put the ball in the endzone..we can manage that...run up and down field..but no touchdowns.

I've mainly just looked at the head to head stuff versus Tennessee and Florida and it's pretty much even but yeah I don't think I'm gonna convince any of you that Alabama is gonna win and I don't think any of you are gonna convince me that LSU is gonna win

thats why they play the game

The truest statement I've seen so far.....It's no good really even talking about it because you never know what can happen...with these 2 defenses one freak play or freak turnover could decide it

Tennessee 17 for 77 about 4 and a helf per carry
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That kind of jumps out at me.... If Tenn. can keep him in check, I am gonna jump out there and say this Tiger D sure as hell can!
Thier schedule looks so dam soft, the negaters will have a wake up call Sat. night!
__________________________________________________
That can be misleading though if you watched the game....Tennessee had eight guys in the box and the 9th one was walkin the line to it pretty close....I mean anybody can be stopped if you do that, I don't care who you are. It took a solid half before McElwain figured that out or Saban let him call some passes but what happened after that was 3 quick tds in the third with like 8/8 completed to start the first two drives in the half and only 3 or 4 plays to score the first one...then that opened up the run and TRich finished strong like usual......If I was Chavis I'd do exactly the same thing and make McCarron beat me but the thing is contrary to what many LSU fans think is McCarron can beat you...will he I don't know he's facing a great defense with better corners.....but I watched Austin burn the honey badger alot of times in the WVU game and Maize is about identical as you can get to Austin....and anytime you put some guys out on there own like that it can get risky....but you don't have to complete but one or two big plays down the field and you gotta take theat 8th and 9th guy out of there so it's gonna come down to who can execute their offense....I've seen every team basically put 8 or 9 in the box at one point in the game at least so far this season and I've been happy with McCarron recognizing it and making a smart play with the football....I have confidence that when one on one converage is their with no safety help then we have enough playmakers to make plays against anybody...except maybe Darrel Revis

Yeah I can agree with fact that D's stats might be a little padded...I think it will come down to what you said plus turnovers and penalties
I agree with everything you just said....I never said TRich would have a great game with 100 plus....i would even bet against it, were gonna have to make some plays through the air either on screens or down the field....He was made out to be just another back, I think we can both agree that he's a special talent. It started with someone saying that seven ypc and 2 tds a game isn't good....I say thats pretty good against anybody....hes not gonna have 7 ypc against lsu and I know that

I don't think so but your bias might be showing through
Lol...well it's pretty obvious Coach Saban is a liar isn't it

Yeah, It's obvious I'm the one who started all this....I've been on here since 2010, I just don't say anything till someone says something as ridiculous as what started this whole thing....I'll be back Sunday if we lose to say nice win, go win it all....but until then I'll defend what I've said because its about as rational as you can get with being a Bama fan

We have won 16 times by 10 plus in Baton Rouge in the series but I don't think its gonna happen till either coach dies or quits

Yeah, I'm actually a high school English teacher/ football coach with some small time stuff published in a few education journals. I did the same thing you just did. AP poll: Oregon #6, Arkansas #8, Penn State #16, West Virginia #24. BCS poll: Oregon #6, Arkansas #7,Penn State #16, West Virginia #24.....where are you gettin that the schedule is so much stronger, I will say it is a little because of the neutral site with Oregon but not by as much as your making it out to be.....and since I make up stats(I don't even like or believe in stats really) I'll say this Alabama's defense was one of the worst in the nation last year in giving up the big play of 20 plus yards...this year they are one of the best....against LSU last year we gave up one consistent scoring drive if you want to say it was(it had gains of 18, 19, and 23) the other was 75 yd pass, 47 yd pass, 41 yd pass, and 29 yd run. Everybody is fighting me however on how Alabama's defense was just as good last year. I don't even care I was just responding to someone saying that 7ypc & 2TDs a game isn't any good against SEC defences that are stacking 8 in the box

I'm sorry you have to revert to throwing in grammar on a message board. I could show you some of my published work if you like, and you can spell check that for me too. Yes, I was saying of all the defenses over the years this one is as good or better than the previous ones, such as 92. Strength of schedule is slightly stronger than Bama's right now. If Oregon gets beat by Stanford then I would say ours is stronger. West Virginia has lost again if you haven't noticed. Offensive line is good, Alabama defensive line is good....saying one trumps the other isn't getting anywhere...McCarron hasn't played in a big game yet....neither had McElroy when he won the national championship.....Courtney Upshaw is gonna be healthy for this game this year

I saw the part about saying our defense wasnt young last year and didnt bother to read rest.....we lost 9 starters off our defense, what do u classify as young because I classify it as inexperienced

Their the same teams! Read over it again, maybe you will understand it this time
re: Just looking at the numbers for Alabama's running back

I'm actually talking about head to head defensive statistics versus teams they have both played like Florida and Tenneesse....i dont know what your talking about how one team could be better when they played LSU or better when they played Bama...unless your talking about how Bama gave you Florida's third string QB for the game then I would say Florida wasnt as good when they played LSU
Also LSU's biggest wins are Oregon and West Virginia to Alabama's Arkansas and Penn State....pretty close to me unless you believe the Oregon PAC 10 hype that says that conference is good
I've laid it out there guys....drink the kool aid....I kno i do with mine.... but I dont know how many of you have watched every Bama game over the past 15 years and can see that this defense is as good as its ever been(right there with 92, play good this game I might give a slight edge) and this is probably the best most well rounded offense I've ever seen...I know that AJ hasnt been under that much pressure except for a happey valley trip and down 10-0 in the swamp but I think he's the best QB we have had in quite awhile and people will realize that over the next 3 years....GMAC was a sack city cause he never wanted to make a bad play and would curl up into a ball......on the note of Bama's D not bein as good, its as good as LSU's at least because with people they have both played they have been very similar or better

what have I said thats so ridiculous...everything I have said is rational and pretty much true....the post was started by someone trying to say TRich isn't good when...apparently yall are trying to argue that Bama's offense and defense were better last year than this year....I know both teams offenses and defenses are better than last...they are both talented, both been blowin everybody out, and its in Bryant Denny Stadium where its been hard to win over the past three years.....plus last year had nothing to do with this year....both teams are entirely different

A 14-10 lead going into the 4th quarter and d gives up a long 3rd down conversion and cant get off the field on a 4th and 1...both lead to tds....and the D cant be held entirely responsible...turnovers by GMAC helped the cause

Yeah, and we got a way better D this year......plus a offense thats leading the SEC and is more balanced than its ever been....I'm not saying that either team can't win or lose but to say that one will beat the other by 10 is stupid especially when the majority of teams over the past thre years havent even scored 10 in bryant denny and this game has been close every year

I said thats why the game was lost last year...I didn't say anything about this year's offense or LSU at all...I watched the game tonight, young defense folded under the pressure when they couldnt get off the field....GMAC couldn't hold onto the ball and an offensive line that wasn't that good last year let LSU get pressure....I will say LSU will get pressure again this game but oline is much better this year than last as yall's dline is better than last so we will see.....sayin your gonna win by 10 in our house is ridiculous though....
