Johnson City has a great music scene. Hart was being politically correct IMO. He offered the raise and extension likely knowing Cuonzo wanted out and gave him time to weigh his options, etc.

No, majority of fans and donors wanted him gone. But UT did give him an opportunity to stay. This was on Zo.
That being said, Tennessee will end up with a better coach IMO and someone who is a better "fit"
Dave Hart did emphasize finding a "fit"...

Martin wanted to weigh his options, decisions...all signs were pointed towards him staying, but everyone in Knoxville was surprised with today's announcement.
Martin also did not meet with his players at Tennessee unlike, gasp, Lane Kiffin, who did meet with players, media prior to exit....

UT AD Dave Hart confirmed during presser that offer was made for additional two years at a $500,000 raise which would have placed him around $1.82 million annually and among top 30 paid coaches in country....
