Was that really called for? Even if it's a joke, that's not even remotely funny. I mean there's probably people that read this board with kids that participate in the special olympics.
or people who work with them...
joke or not... it wasn't funny..

Wow...
I only saw Bradshaw and Matty pitch. Daniel Bradshaw looked good. Struck out several players Matty on the other hand didn't do his best.
That's about right...

I'm guessing they're using the new bats now.
They were using different bats from last time. They sounded like wooden bats but didn't look wooden.
Jacoby was on third. Last year, we struggled with third base position. With Wet and Grant and Didier bouncing back and fourth, we never had a steady third baseman. Jacob was able to stop almost everything that came his way. His height (6'3) gave him a great advantage, defensively. He is not the fastest runner but looked very comfortable behind the plate.
The tigers baseball team is having another practice and scrimmage today at 3 and 4 PM.
I attended the last couple innings of the scrimmage yesterday evening. It says it was going to start at 4:30 and it was well into the fourth inning when I got there about 4:15; so I don't have any exact numbers. Hopefully they will post the stats from yesterday soon. Here are my observations.
Mikie Mahtook - He did extremely well. Had great at bats. Hit two doubles. He is doing great in center field.
Tyler Hanover also did decent at the plate and as always did amazing on the field. Somehow that kid jumps ten feet in the air.
Jackson Slaid was catching some yesterday and other than his great arm, he was pulled into the dugout multiple times by PM to be corrected. He wasn't paying attention and not backing up where he was supposed to be. He's a freshman and he has a long time left to learn, but doesn't even compare to Micah.
I did not see one single homerun yesterday either. With Matt Gaudet gone, it'll be tough with the homers. Hopefully Mikie can pull some in for us.
I was most impressed with Jacoby Jones. That kid looked great. I was also impressed with Marcus Davis. This was the first time I've heard anything about this kid. He's a freshman from Ohio. He is probably the fastest runner on the roster. We need another Jared Mitchell as far as running goes.
Raph Rhymes - I had heard a lot about him but I didn't get to see him play much.
Jimmy Dykstra (I've officially named him "Sunshine") was quiet also. Didn't see much at all from him.
Kirk Cunningham had a great at bat.
Matty - Of course everytime Matty was pitching, all of the radars went up. I still haven't heard his average speeds from yesterday. I'll post that as soon as I find them. I need to invest in a radar. haha.

I think he has potential to be the best... I also look forward to seeing Alsup.
"Joey Bourgeios and Jordan Rittiner will sit out the 2011 season because of Tommy John Surgery"
This makes me sad since Rittiner is one of my favorite players..

Kirk was picked up this summer. His pitching and hitting stats are looking pretty good.
