The same coach that is "teaching" Jefferson and Lee how to throw would also be the coach "teaching" Shepard.

Just something to keep in mind

True and as a result maybe RS would be just as inept as JJ at passing but at least it would show they were trying to find something to resolve the offenses issues rather than the same old thing, and RS would be a bigger running threat

Do you want Les Miles to use Voodoo to make Jordan Jefferson into a good quarterback? I do not think we could've played Auburn the way we did in the beginning of the season, I really don't. Watching that game was much more encouraging than the Tennessee game. Or even the Florida game.

I agree that Miles can't make JJ into a better QB but I have always felt if something isn't working try something else until you find something that does work. I am perfectly happy we are 7-1 however I would REALLY like to see Miles and Crowton just try something different than what they have so far to get the offense on track, please, just SOMETHING I don't even care what at this point but doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting the results to change is the definition of insanity.

I know Miles isn't stupid no matter what his public speaking skills are which is what is so frustrating about the offense. I would just like to see them at least try to shake things up and eventually find something that works ON GAMEDAY not in practice, Gordy Rush has said numerous times that he has seen them practicing different looks like the wildcat during the spring so why is Miles so scared or reluctant to give it a shot on Gameday if you never try it in a game how the hell do you know whether or not it will work? Oh well I will continue to hope that day comes and that we beat Sabans a$$ in 2 weeks :spank: and that Miles will stop coaching scared

Go to the 2:20 mark and tell me this kid can't throw. I know it's only high school, but his throws are dead on, and the high school field is just as big as the college field.

That being said, I'm not pushing for RS to be the starter, but I agree with the OP's push for RS to replace JJ as the "running" QB.

I was somewhat apathetic, it's obviously not changing, about the whole QB thing before watching that vid but now I feel bad for RS some of those throws looked pretty good and he showed some touch and accuracy, granted those were highlights but still. His arm strength seems a average maybe on par with Herb Tyler(who had a pretty good college career)? There is no doubt that he has a GREAT work ethic e.g. doing one on one work with an ex NFL QB every off season (can't remember the QBs name though) and a great attitude. RS is one hell of a runner and lightning quick would be a MUCH bigger threat to score on any play how could he possibly do any worse at QB than JJ, hell they hardly throw when JJ is in anyway. I don't get it what harm would there be in at least giving him a shot at this point, what is there to lose???? Can't get any worse than what we have seen so far 2 TDs and 8 INTs.

Don't forget every analyst in America thought we had no chance at Florida either, so don't get worried about what they have to say

I hope he gets the chance because I would love to see him once and for all prove that 2008 no longer exists for him. I'm already convinced but no one could doubt it after out performing a heisman candidate. It's great to see a kid turn everything around like he has.

2) We would probably go over most/any 1-loss BCS teams provided (a) we don't get blown out and (b) we still make and win the SECCG.

I think in that scenario we should but I just don't see how we can win the voters over because of all the negative press we have gotten already this year. However, like another poster said anything is possible stranger things have happened

I don't think its fair but even if we somehow made it to the SECCG with 1 loss then blew out our opponent the writers have such a negative view of the Tigers that they would make it impossible to get to the NC game even though the computers love us. I believe it has to be all or nothing this year.

Could we make it to the SECCG if we beat both Auburn and Alabama then lost to someone like ole miss or Ark?

Ahh, I agree you shouldn't take anything regarding LSU and the coaches personally but I can understand some people getting frustrated when serious questions presented with stats explaining where the question came from are greeted with silence or even worse get cut off.

He doesn't owe us anything but if they just want fluff questions then they should probably have media guys ask the same old useless questions they always do instead of opening up the phone lines. Or better yet open up the phone lines but only allow questions asked from a short list of acceptable options because calling it open lines then refusing to answer questions you don't like that have nothing to do with the game plan seems to piss fans off even more than just not being allowed to ask

I don't know why you have such a low opinion of yourself and the rest of us but last time I checked the "measly fans" pay a good chunk of Les' 3.8 million salary considering his payroll from LSU is around 350K. I don't see why asking a legitimate question about our QBs backed up with stats is so horrible. None of the people asked for next weeks game plan just asked why has and why, when you look at the stats, does he continue to start the lesser of the two QBs which is just trying to understand the thought process. Hell, at this point, it seems like it is doing more harm to JJ than good to keep starting him because he seems to be losing confidence with each mistake maybe he needs a chance to sit and collect himself for a game or two to get his confidence back because chances are we will need him at some point in the season especially if, god forbid, Lee gets injured.

Hey guys I couldn't listen to the show tonight so I was curious if anyone knew if they put out a podcast of it? Want to hear what they had to say about BilJ's call on the Les Miles Show

thanks,

Well then kudos to Jasper for a hell of a play. It did look like he thought about it for a second or two before deciding to go for it
quote:

I don't think taking advantage of a busted play is ever a "showing your hand". Would you rather Jasper just go ahead and punt anyway despite having a free first down? Maybe it's just me but "showing your hand" is when Jasper runs a designed fake field goal right?

If that was Jasper's hot read on that play then that was one hell of a good play on his part. Definitely good coaching to have him looking for something like that and a good read by him.

We would all prefer to see Lee at this point. But I'm not ready to say ANY series is automaticaly "flushed" just because JJ is in. Can you at least admit a smile somehow managed to appear on your face at some point during the first play against Tennessee?

Of course it brought a smile to my face. Now come up with another smiling moment on a drive Qb'd by JJ from start to finish in the last 4 games? Can't do it can you?

I don't dislike JJ as a person but just for a second look at the FACTS JJ has 2 TDs and 7 INTs for the year in the last 3 games he has led LSU to a grand total of 1 TD as a QB which just so happens to be when a "smile somehow managed to appear" therefore yes they are flushed series.

Check my posts I am not negative towards LSU and just because I do not like the way Miles handles the QB situation does not make me a hater. Don't ever assume you know ANYTHING about me and take your condescending attitude and shove it where the sun doesn't shine! :doublebird:

:geauxtigers:

No Doc, I don't disagree with any of that. But if you've followed football as long as I have you'd know that this "luck" that you're so miserable about, is something that every championship team seems to need. I'm happy it's following us right now and I hope we get "lucky" again this week.

I agree with you that all championship teams have some luck, however if Miles decides to flush 5 series in this game by playing JJ we will need an act of god to beat Auburn. That is what seems to have most people upset when you are playing tight conservative games can you really afford to throw away 5 or more offensive series?

If those series aren't thrown away are the games even close?

LOL yeah Les doesn't exactly give you the impression he is intelligent but I don't think a dumb man could win 80% of his games over 6 years even though he does his best to make you think he is :geauxtigers:

f JJ has that attitude, don't let the door hit him in the arse. For all what JL went through, if JJ pulls this, he would need to go. JL did not bail and lost a lot of weight and as we can see, has improved tremendously and still is not seeing the PT he deserves. But he is still hanging in there. JL needs to be our #1 and JJ needs to deal with it and be a solid #2

I agree, just as a disclaimer I don't have any inside info my belief that he would transfer is based solely on the attitude he has displayed on the sidelines when he gets taken out and on incidents like when he said something that pissed Clement off after the TD on the broken play. I couldn't believe the look on his face when they left JL in that one time after they got inside the 10 and JL threw those beautiful fade passes it was like he couldn't believe the coaches weren't putting him in.
