I was sitting here thinking of past funny experiences i have encountered while duck hunting and would like to hear more.

My funniest experience happened two years ago while hunting Big Branch. I normally hunt with the same two buddies, and one buddy's life goal is to shoot a banded duck. Well the last hunt, the year before, a blue wing teal flew in on his side but my other buddy(who could care less about a band) shot it since he wasn't ready. When he brought it back he showed our buddy and he was pissed and didn't stop cursing. Realizing he wanted a band that bad, opening day the following year he had dropped a male Pintail. I volunteered to paddle out there to get it and slipped a band around its leg. When i brought it back I showed him and he was in tears screaming, and couldn't wait to head straight to a guy who mounts his ducks. We let it go on for about 10 minutes until we decided to break the news. I don't think anyone had been so pissed at me. Packed up his shite said F**k yall and left, and to piss him off even more it ended up being my second best trip in big branch bringing home 8 greys and 4 teal.
Last duck hunt of this year I was paddling im my pond and saw 4 dark spots swimming towards me. scared the S*** out of me so started paddling towards the bank. when i got out thier path i realized it was four Dolphin. and through out the hunt they stayed in the middle of the pond feeding. made the hunt!

and the issue about keeping the band i wouldnt keep it if i didnt shoot it but if somebody wants to give me an 8 pt buck mounted i would definitly take it. guy was throwing away a mounted green head and a widgeon and asked if i wanted them so i took them even though i never shot either one before. But i knew i wouldnt be long before i did. next year opening day had a pair of widgeon, male and female, come in on me dropped them both then the next morning droppend my first green head. both were on my list to mount but since i had the ones from the guy it saved me 400 dollars. but i guess a deer is a little different but still makes your wall look pretty.

he is one lucky guy. been hunting for 13 years hoping for a greenhead, pintail, banded duck, golden eye, and woody. finally got the green 3 years ago and golden eye this year so the only thing i got left is the band, pintail, and woody. but where i hunt nobody has killed one with a band in 35 years. but when i do u bet its going on my wall. uncle shot a male pintail banded 5 years ago and its the sickest mount i have seen. Its standing on one leg with his head facing back scratching his neck with the band right in front.
thats why they make it a big issue in hunters edu. to make sure u see what ur shooting. All i do is duck hunt and would love to deer hunt but my dad doesnt deer hunt anymore. one day he was hunting public land and heard someting in the bushes so he put his gun up around where he heard the foot steps. while sitting there for a few minutes a man jumped out of the bushes and my dad claims that when he came out the bushes my dads cross arrow was right on him. needless to say this was 25 years ago and my dad has never been deer hunting again.
let her hold what ever she wants! if she kills a deer and u see a game warden then u killed it! like said before just make sure u have one gun.
when i was 18 me and my dad woke up and headed to the blinds. he drops me off and leaves. about 10 min later still kinda dark group 5 came in on me. when they landed on the watter i shot and dropped 3 of them.by the end of the hunt i had dropped about 9 ducks bc my dad wasnt doin good. dad comes pick me up ask me how many i said 9 grey. pull up to the first 3 i shot and they were all female hooded mergansers.
depending on the type and age of the gun and barrel academy sells glow sights that clip to the top of the barrel.

Yea I have a picture but I'm new at this and can't figure out how upload it? And when I noticed it was a goldeneye i decided to pop it on the water because I wanted to make sure it didn't get away and it wasnt that close prob about 60 feet from me so I didn't mess it up. Also it was just as big as the greys I shot and pretty sure it was fully plumaged.

And if I mount him, which I probably will, it will definitely be a table mount. Was thinking about a dead mount because I want one bad but I'm thinking it's to rare of a duck to do that with so im gonna wait till I kill a pintail to do that.

It's a common goldeneye. And I shot it in Lafitte Louisiana.

Anybody shot one in southeast louisiana? and is it worth mounting?
