I seem to recall him saying sometime back that he was getting married in January... I'm pretty sure that's why, but if he decided to leave anyways I honestly wouldn't miss him much.
I think he's coming back on Monday though b/c I'm watching Jay right now and he just said that the Science Star winner would join Steve a week from today.

Roger's book is out of print. I just Googled 'roger's cajun cookbook' though and there looks to be a few copies still floating around on eBay, Amazon and Barnes & Noble used books, and iOffer. As for finding it in town, anywhere used books are. I don't think any publisher/printer is willing to produce his cookbook today considering (a) every recipe contains Rotel tomatoes and cream of mushroom soup, and (b) his... problems...
I have the lite version of the book if you want just a recipe or 2 for something in particular, I can post it.

Google is indeed full of information.
Wow is all I can say. I barely remember the guy being on air but wow... I feel terrible for his family and co-workers

Hey Lucky, I just found my copy of his cookbook and it says in the intro "I hope they'll elicit the same response they did for me - 'TONNAIRE, MAIS CAS C'EST BONNE, OUI!!!'"
I speak France French, and can tell you (a) 'cas' should be spelled as ca, and 'bonne' as bon, and (b) it means something like 'thunder, but that is good, yes.'
So he killed himself? Wow. What exactly happened? I remember hearing about his DWIs when I was little but the other stuff... ????

Apparently yesterday would have been news guy Vernon Roger's birthday. I did a little Googling on him and now I'm curious. Anyone here have anything to share about him?
