re: Alabama now copying LSU gymnastics

I'm pretty sure this is for the their princess night that a lot of teams do every year. They have the "Diva Belt" or whatever the stupid thing is called that is a knock off for our crown.
Are you getting that as a Speedtest result? Because as a real life usage speed that's not horrible.

As a speed test result, that's abysmal and they would most likely look into the cause.
Carbonite's $59 plan only allows you to sync what's on your internal hard drive, not any externals. You pay more to do that. Cloud storage is a great idea but never put all of your eggs in one basket. Keep copies in Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. instead of just one service.

The rule of thumb for things you really want to save is 3-2-1. 3 copies of everything, 2 different storage mediums, and at least 1 copy off site somewhere else (bank vault, friend's house, etc.)

It's going to be really interesting in the next few decades as people can't retrieve their kid's photos because a hard drive had a head crash, they can't locate the original drive, etc. Most people are extremely lax in their data management policies.

Depending how much video you're going to be moving around, you could look at a NAS, network attached storage device, or Drobo (A pretty simple to use version of a NAS) as well as maybe a simple hard drive you keep offsite. It doesn't exactly fit the plan but is a way better option than most people keep. If you want to be even safer:
1. Back up everything to the Drobo or NAS.
2. Make two copies to other external drives or such.
3. Take one of those copies off site somewhere and rotate it with the other regularly.
You should really be careful about this since most likely the company considers that phone property. If you get rid of it without approval, there is a very real chance it could be considered stealing.

Also if they don't happen to notice it, which most corporate accounts will flag new devices, if you are let go or such soon you would have to turn in the 6+ and be out the extra money you paid.

I'd be very careful trying to pull any of these workarounds. Go talk to whoever is in charge of it and be up front with what you want. Dodging IT staff and messing with company property is almost never a good idea.

While the 2008 iMac only supported USB 2.0, it does have a Firewire 800 port. There are still many drives available that have Firewire 800 ports and USB 3.0 ports. USB 3.0 is backward compatible so you can use both interfaces, plus if you upgrade computers or such, you aren't stuck with an older slower drive.

Most of these polls test market share globally. iPhone usage outside the US is a lot smaller than here. Mostly because Apple products are priced quite highly in those markets.

Android takes a huge jump in the market share because of developing countries and such. No one in Africa is going to be able to afford an iPhone while Android is selling well. Heck in some places, Blackberry holds the leading market share for some reason.

The statistics to look at are mostly US and first world countries usage. Apple holds 42% market share in the US, more than Samsung, LG, and Motorola combined. Even adding in HTC, Android only holds 45.7%. That's not a huge discrepancy by an rate imaginable.

And Apple's profit margins are much larger than any of the Android manufacturers, meaning they are fine with how they are doing.

Getting an Apple TV on the eduroam network is going to be a huge pain in the butt. They don't support the network security type that LSU (and eduroam) uses for authentication. Even if you get it added, the speed and connection strength is most likely not going to support what you need. Streaming is the first thing to suffer under large loads of use.
His Instagram is pretty good too. Some of the better photos of campus you see. www.instagram.com/chrisparent

They didn't lose the site registration. A WHOIS search brings up that it is registered until 2015, it's prob them switching to a new server or such. So no, the guy who said he bought it was an idiot.

None of the images on lsusports are near as bad as these. I was at that meet and from where u were sitting, a lot of gymnast on beam should have been facing you. yet your pictures only have them facing away. also the first crotch shot is extremely bad, that shoudn't even be shown.
