I don't think anyone outside of perhaps Les Miles alone will ever be able to explain why Jarrett Lee did not go into the SEC Championship Game after multiple first half series on offense failed to produce a first down and the same for the BCS CG. I for one would never have continued to play JJ going back to his Sophomore season. Lee has always been a better passer and like Matt Flynn, has NFL potential. Our offense struggled a little bit against ARK under JJ. Think about it, under JL over the span of 8 games against 6 top 25 ranked opponents, the Tigers trailed on the scoreboard a total of 6 minutes. If you look at the games started by JJ this season, the Tigers were behind for a lot more of the game. The Offense under JJ has never moved as fluidly as it did under Lee. Even when Lee was throwing interceptions as almost all SEC starting Freshman do, he still kept the Offense moving and scoring. Go back and look at his Freshman season and you will see that I am correct. The offense under JJ has never been consistent because he is not consistent. He holds the ball too long in the pocket, he does not pressure the DE on options, he keeps when he should pitch it too often, he often scrambles and you can't tell when or if he is going to run or pass it. He is too slow of a decision maker for the QB position in game circumstances. And, he does not and never has been able to pass the ball with touch. He has an incredible fast ball. But, it takes a lot more than that to be a really good QB.

The rest of the offense made tons of mistakes in the BCS CG game as well, leading to a miserable overall offensive performance. But, if Tyrann had not sparked a huge turnaround in the GA game and the ARK game(in my opinion), the weakness of the offense under JJ would have been more obvious and perhaps the coaches would have planned better.

Regardless of how JJ played or how the other Offensive players played, not having a back up plan to put Jarrett into both games backfired. The BCS game may have been a completely different story if Lee had been running things.

Do yourself favor and go back and watch the first Bama game. When Lee was in the game before the two interceptions, you will see an up-tempo offense that looks like it did much of the season. We looked like we could break out at any moment and start moving the ball and winning. But in comes JJ and again the O looks "herky-Jerky" .

I am so glad JJ is gone. I wish him well in the rest of his life. And I am proud of his service and commitment to the team. But, man it was hard to watch for the past 3+ years.
Santa, I agree. He swivels his feet essentially the back foot moves forward and the forward foot moves backward. He is not stepping through his throws. He may have great motion in practice, but it did not transfer to the game Saturday. I was at the game and had excellent seats on the 50 yd line. I obviously could not see hit facial expression from except on the jumbo tron. But, Jarrett's body language conveyed some nervousness.

I prefer a pro-style offense with a QB that we know hands it off and throws. JJ has been sacked too often for holding the ball, possibly because he is thinking, "do I throw or run here?"

Lee's performance Saturday looked like last season. I did not see a new or improved Jarrett Lee. I did not see new plays or exciting inventive play calling. And, I often wondered why we were rotating Rueben Randell so often. If he's our number one WR, leave him in for the majority of the plays. Right?

If the coaching staff wants to see JLee grow in confidence, they will need to use the quick slant and more TE throws to get him into a rhythm. I am all for WR screens and bubble screens to build rhythm and confidence. And, a better more balanced attach.

Being able to watch the game live with no commentators or TV distractions, I got the feeling that our coaching staff simply felt like they could BEAT the Ducks up front and all they wanted to do was pound the ball over and over again. That strategy worked Saturday. But, will not work against MSU or AL and probably not against AR either.
I could not agree more. Crowton's offensive schemes lack continuity and keep the kids off kilter. A new OC could not make it worse. I saw, give GC his walking papers. He is obviously and exceptionally nice guy. But he is not the man for this job.

He has failed us for two years. And, if we keep him, it will three. With a new OC, and proper utilization of Russell Shephard, we might have a great team two years from now. Keeping Crowton is a mistake. If we are losing the Offensive Assts, it is time to replace the OC as well. I say bring in a new OC and let him pick his assistants and lets rebuild this offense.

I for one don't mind mistakes, if we see growth from week to week. LSU has had two years of miserable offense. How much more do we want to endure. Two years is enough. I assure you if Crowton was the HC, he would already be gone.
