The Irish have a TV contract for home games with NBC. That kinda hamstrings them from joining a conference a bit. But after this snub they should rethink going forward, from a geographical standpoint they should fit into the Big Ten.
How tied in are they to the ACC deal? Lots of variables to ponder.

Losing your high school kids you had committed wouldn't worry me as much, coaching changes tend to do that.
But losing players you already have on the roster would make me hit the panic button. That would make me inquire about what's going on internally regardless of NIL. Once you made the hire the portal hits were bound to come.

Highly unlikely he's firmly entrenched. Hopefully he'll etch his name in Crimson flame as past coaches have done. Of all the 5 new hires in the past 24 hrs, Kiffin will last the shortest.
