re: Looking for Term Life Insurance..Which providers should I look at?
Posted by bengalbrother on 1/14/10 at 1:21 pm to bayoudude
Are you really searching for the cheapest premium? I understand that in this economy budget is tight but you do get what you pay for.
I would look at a mutual company. You can research stock vs mutual.

Like I said, I'm done debating, you like what you like. It's not a sales pitch because I'm not trying to sell anyone. Trying to educated and you both are close minded. You make assinine statements about whole life. I never said it's the only thing to do, I said it's not a bad product. You need to do your own research and stop talking to people who only sale term, Ramsey, primerica, etc. By the way, Ramsey has whole life policies protecting his assests.

It does take about 12-15 yrs. After that time your dividends, if your with a strong company, can pay the premium for you or it can buy paid up additions and grow your death benefit. Ya'll are talking out of your arse, the cash value is there for the insured during the time they are living and can be used as an interest free loan. I can go all day about the benefits. Wait until your term runs out and you have to price term at age 60. Go run a quote on that premium.

Russian is a real life tard. The reason its not for everyone is because everyone can't get whole life due to budget restrictions. None of you have givin me ANY cons other than price of premium. I own term on me and my wife. I have whole life on my kids. I will, down the road, roll my term into wl. If you actually invest the rest after buying term, it will work. The problem is that most people do not invest. This isnt facts from my company, this is from the insurance comm

I love the people who know nothing about Life Insurance bashing whole life. Dave Ramsey figs. The ONLY con to whole life is it's expensive. I am a Agent and I'm here to tell you that I make NO more commission on WL. I actually will make more off of term because 95% of the clients will roll it into a WL policy or cancel and get another term. Close thread good night!

Also, for the people who like to think they know about insurance. STOP WATCHING DAVE RAMSEY!! Its like ya'll are writing quotes from his books. Both term and whole life are good if used correctly but to say "avoid whole life" is just an asinine statement coming from an uneducated individual. Now I will admit its not for everyone, mostly because it is more exp, but its a great policy for certain people. Term serves its purposes, immedate/inexpensive coverage. For the people who just HATE whole life I have a question.....Would you rent a home for 20 or 30 years then move?? That is if you could afford to buy.

If you want a policy with a safe and established company that is not going anywhere. Look into New York Life. Been around for 165 years and they are THE top rated insurance company in America. But don't take my word for it, you can research it.

SGTiger needs to read up on NYL. Mainstay is something they offer but not the only option. Look at the company strenghth compared to anyone else right now. They are booming in this economy when others are going under. Good try!!
re: 401k - Allocation Balance???

Its great you are contrib. to a 401k but you don't need to put all your eggs in that basket. You need to have some safe money that is free from taxes. Look at a a roth and maybe even a Life ins. policy. It doesn't grow with a big interest but its safe and tax free. Also, look into a annuity.

Most people don't know this but New York Life does this as well. That is who I would contact.

It's a good company. I currently work for the top INS agency in the country and we are booming. With the way the economy is it really helps being a mutual company. Good luck and remember..... you can't be afraid to ask for the sale.
