The amazing thing about Cal Raleigh that is not being mentioned is he plays the most demanding position and plays more games than most catchers. He has hit more home runs before the all-star game than any catcher in major league history. I believe Cal will slow down as the season progresses due to the wear and tear of playing catcher and Judge will surpass him in home runs.
Speaking of triple crown winners, I once owned a race horse that was a descendent of Alydar. Alydar came in second in every triple crown race behind Affirmed. When my horse ran, he took off in the 4th race and came in first in the fifth race!
My father was with the 5th Marine Division that land on Iwo. He was wounded on Iwo. He did not talk much about the battle but he did say he saw the American flag being raised on Mt. Kuribayashi.
I remember it well. A very good friend of mine was one of the first police officers on the roof.
from the 55 second mark to the end it appears the Blue Angles are performing at the SeaFair event held every year in Seattle on the first weekend of August
My father fought on Iwo Jima with the Marine Corps. He was 18 years old and after battling on the beach he was blown out of his fox hole by a mortar somewhere inland. He never wanted to visit the island.
A little long but worth it:
An Aggie student was hitchhiking back to school and was late for classes. A truck driver pulled over to give him a lift but told the aggie that he could not stop for anything because he was late for his delivery. After about an hour into the drive the aggie tells the driver to pull over so he could take a dump. The truck driver refused. Thirty minutes later the aggie asked again to stop. The driver refused. Fifteen minutes later the aggie tells the driver if he doesn't pull over he will take a dump in his cab. The driver pulls over and a few minutes later the aggie yells back "you have any toilet paper?" The driver says no and the aggie asked him what to do. The driver says "use a dollar." The aggie finishes up and as they are heading down the highway the driver smells a nasty odor coming from the passenger side. He asked the aggie if he wiped his arse and the aggie said "have you ever tried to wipe your arse with 3 quarters, 2 dimes, and a nickel."
you are to concerned with stars. we finish in the top ten in recruiting and you can't get excited. good luck

begging is never pretty
Get over it! Quit bitching, grow some balls, and be thankful for what you have. It's only a game and it doesn't mean much in the game of life.
Although I have never had the whole fried Dungeness Crab, I heard that the restaurant Ho-Ho's in China Town serves it. I've been to Ho-Ho's and they have excellant chinese food but the decor is nothing to write home about. Lots of local chinese eat there.

cheers

If you think life is too short to miss an opportunity to see and visit a beautiful section of the states and see LSU win a football game instead of saving a few bucks and going to less than desirable tourist destination such as Jackson, MS or Birmingham, AL, please let me know if you need recommendations on what to see and do in Seattle. I have lived here for 19 years and will be glad to help.

cheers
I've been waiting for this game for a long time. I would not miss it.

cheers
before you start ranting, give people time to respond. thanks
I would not recommend a rental car unless you want to see things outside the Seattle area. Plenty of things to do and see are within walking distance or a short cab ride. Please see my earlier post regarding transportation to the stadium from downtown.

cheers
For kids, the Seattle zoo is very nice and you can jump on Bus 5 from downtown to get there. I believe the bus ride is $2 for adults, roundtrip. The aquarium on the water downtown is good for kids but as an adult you will think it is lame. There is the children's museum at Seattle Center. The monorail from downtown will take you right there. Also, there is the Seattle Pacific Science Center near the museum. Our kids have enjoyed all these spots. If you have a rental car, the Tacoma Pt. Defience Zoo and Aquarium is really nice. That is about a 40 min ute ride from downtown Seattle. The Ballard Locks has the salmon fish ladder that kids enjoy. That is in Seattle but not downtown. I hope this helps.

cheers
good luck with that one. every time I have flown back to Louisiana I left at 6am.
In past years, the local buses would run from downtown to Husky Stadium. I assume this will be the case this year. The bus is somewhat slow with traffic but it is the cheapest way to go. I would not rent a car just to go to the game. A short taxi ride will get you within 1/2 mile without getting caught up in much game day traffic. On campus and oof campus parking is available. The campus is a DRY campus. However, I have tailgated a number of times on campus and we drank our favorite alchol beverage by pouring it in a plastic cup and not getting out of control. Be sure to pour out of sight.
depending where you are staying and how long you are staying, few cool things to do is go kayaking on Lake Union (Northwest Outdoor Center 206-281-9694); take a seaplane ride to the San Juan Islands on Kenmore Air; take the ferry across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island and visit the city of Winslow; take a trip to Mt. Rainier; visit the Ballard Locks; and check out the troll under the Aurora Bridge. There are many other things to do and see depending on what you like and the time you have.

cheers
If anyone needs recommendations on what to see or do in Seattle during your visit for the LSU/UW game let me know. I have noticed that there is a lot of information available about Seattle out there. I have lived in Seattle for 19 years and can suggest a few things to do that may not be published.

cheers
I live in Seattle and the Edgewater is very nice and the Beatles stayed there when they performed in Seattle. The hotel use to let yhou fish out of your room window but they got tired of cleaning fish guts out of the tub.
