Mahtook had offers from Arkansas, UConn, Rice, Miss. State, once he let everyone know he was only playing baseball, football offers ended. I'll find the article that listed his offers and will post it. Could he have played SEC Football, YES, better that Patrick Peterson, No. Best overall athlete on campus, got my vote!!!!

He's 25-32 in steals and you say he's horrible on the bases. Ridiculous and you assume he has the green light. Just think it's a ridiculous comment to make when he's tops in stolen bases.

I agree top 15 pick. If you look at the projected top 4 outfielders in this years draft, Bradley, Springer, Dickerson and Mahtook, all projected in first round, Mahtook is by far having a better season at this point. In my opinion I don't see how he could go later than the first round. Wont be surprised to see Mahtook go earlier in the draft. The post earlier that said Mahtook would be stuck in the minor leagues because of too much talent in the minors. Thats ridiculous. Enjoy what we have now boys because it wont be long when we are watching him in the big leagues. It's ashame he wont be here another year to see what records he would break here at LSU.

He was being recruited by several major colleges for football but told them he was concentrating on baseball. Now that he is a little older and mature I would love to see him on the grid iron. Is walking down that tunnel and playing in Tiger Stadium worth the risk of giving up potential millions, MAYBE!!

Congrats to Mahtook, he deserves it. Nola as an alternate is still a great honor. Dugas is a great player but they could only take 3 or 4. These guys were competing against the top players in the country in there positions. To have 3 guys from the area representing and two from LSU is awesome. Good Luck to Mahtook!!

Mahtook must of done pretty well they just announced him as pro prospect of the year in his summer ball league, and Nola turned it on strong late in the season. Not sure about Matulis and the others not mentoined.

Do you think Ott, Hanover or Mahtook have a legit shot at making an all SEC team this year.

I've seen it first hand and it is unreal. The tiger goes nuts. If you have a chance to see it you gotta. The only thing better than watching the tiger is watching Mikie and Hanover do their thing. Go tigers !!
