We're planning a bachelorette party in new orleans this spring. Need suggestions on places that might have a private party room for 10-15 people. Upscale causual would be preferred. We probably want to spend 50ish per person.

thats a bit off.... someone threw a beer can at a black kid as he was walking down the stairs. they had asked him (and some other kids) to leave because it wasnt a rush party going on and they didnt know them. then it all got out of hand.

i liked the dkes my freshman year, i went to some of their formals and parites. it was just a smaller group, lots of new orleans and shreveport guys.

Hate to break the bad news, but burgandy room isnt 2 for 1 on football weekends. however drinks are still reasonably priced. the building is very narrow and can get annoyingly crowded but snag a table and you'll have a good time. junior/senior/just graduated crowd.

irie is a fun place and theres lots of tables for groups. roosters is fun early in the evening, but its kind of turned into the sophomore/junior bar.the new blind pig is more of a local crowd but isnt miserable. they had good music the one time ive been.

thankfully library hasnt been charging $20 for games this season. but like other people said, go early and get a wristband, go drink somewhere else and come back about 11. thursday nights they'll start charging about 8:30 to 9, friday and saturdays its just whatever they feel like.

Bars for thursday night

I usually stay on the SEC rant, but we're heading down thursday night for the ole miss game this weekend. we don't have tickets to the saints game but would like some suggestions on bars with a good atmosphere to watch the game. our hotel is at canal & bourbon so staying near french quarter would be nice.

Another point is that with most stadiums being on campus, you need to take into consideration the alcohol policy of that campus.

Ole Miss for example, i dont know where the football staduim is as far a county lines are concerned, but if you use the same theory as the grove, then they could sell hard liquor and no beer. baseball stadium could sell beer. THAT would be a nightmare hahahaha

my opinion, just keep doing what you do. i'll continue to stick my flask in my dress every football game and have an ice chest at the baseball games.

between 8 or 9, sometimes earlier. just depends on the night. if you get there around 7 or 8 to start your night, have a few drinks, then get your wristband to come back later, youll be fine.

wrong. Roosters & ajax are two different restaurants. Ajax doesnt even have an upstairs. Roosters is a restaurant downstairs, and a bar upstairs with a long porch overlooking the jackson ave strip of the square.

Varsity Grill is another restaurant/bar worth looking into. Its the old pearl street pasta, but reopened in september as more of a sports bar atmosphere. TVs everywhere.

Library- sports bar, or the patio if they have it open
Varsity Grill (the old pearl st pasta)- this is more of a restaurant scene but will still be a fun bar with lots of drink specials.
Roosters- restaurant downstairs and bar upstairs

with so many people in town, anywhere on the square is going to show you a good time.
