Chad Loup! He may be the only other QB we have had that was as prolific with throwing picks....

We lose to Ark next Friday and get the Peach or Indy Bowl.....
The same drive that Ole Miss got 35 yards on a frickin fake punt.....

Hey...Temple was kicked out of the Big East and they have given up fewer points than us this year. Just sayin'....! Oh yeah, LA Tech, Troy and Ark State too. So many options...

Anyone who has actually been a D Coord for a few years at a mid-major with some success would be okay compared to what we have right now.
The D had some challenges last year, but at least we had some field leadership from the Saban years (Steltz, Dorsey, etc) to know you should cover a WR on a post pattern and to maintain your rush lanes on the D-line. Hey, maybe throw in a stunt on pass rush every now and then. The discipline around tackling has been the most obvious though. Even in Jr High your taught to take the legs, not upper body shot arm tackles.
B) Although I will join the lynch mob if he does not make some changes with the defensive coordinators.

Living away from the South has not been that hard during College FB season in the past decade because LSU has seen plenty of national coverage. Now I fear I will only get to see LSU on ESPN2 twice per year as we fall back to mediocrity. Hate to be pessimistic, but this feels like a replay from my youth in the Mike Archer years. A couple of weeks ago I was fine finishing 8-3...after all, hard to be greedy after our recent run. But the poor coaching of the defense and the lack of player development this year really scares me for the future. We are now staring at 6-5. Yeah...Independence Bowl here we come!!

I just found and joined this site while looking for some discussion around our defense this year. Good...now I can quit beating my head against drywall in the basement. It has been simply painful to watch an LSU defense this bad with coverage schemes. If Jarrett Lee were playing against LSU he would put up All-American numbers! It's not all his fault - I have not seen an LSU QB with such consistent bad starting field position since Chad Loup. LSU has historically played with young DB's, but the fade route has not been this poorly defended since the Dinardo days. The absence of the now Nebraska head coach in our D is huge and obvious - the replacement Def Coord's are Busch league.
