I think it's a good idea. We may get some make up calls next year.
This is college football. Some calls go your way and some don't. It happens to every team in every league and in every conference. Get over it.
I'm a Bama fan, and I disagree with the entire context of this thread. Here you are showing your bitterness by laughing and pointing out our loss to Florida. But you conveniently left out the fact that the loss was in the SEC Championship Game, which is played between the two Conference Division Champions. So Please. I would expect that type of venom to be spewed by an aubie, but it doesn't sound very good coming from anyone not born in a barn.
I'm not going to continue this by talking smack, because that's just not who I am. This season has gone well for some teams, not so much for others. We may not be headed to the NC title game, but we are most likely headed to the Sugar Bowl. We wish you luck in whichever Bowl you are chosen to play.
That said, it is what it is, so let's all take what we have and make the best of it, aight?

And might I add what is IMO the biggest reason TT doesn't deserve to ever coach again:
Either teaching or encouraging his players to use chop blocks, clipping, or other illegal moves. These actions are nothing less than intentional attempts to cause injury to the opposing team's players.
I agree. Good riddance to a trashy individual.

Ps. as far as qb, JPW will be proven to have the least talent of any that CNS has starting at AU
You might be right, but you don't have to curse us like that!!

My friend spoke with a Chick Filet rep (he had his Chick Filet jacket on) in the Atlanta Airport yesterday afternoon.
He was on the way down to the barn to tear up the Aub/CF cow commercial contract. :rotflmao:
Whether Franklin is an option guy or a spread guy is beside the point. The main point is one that Tubs either forgot or never knew. You should never, ever try to change your offensive scheme in the middle of the season. You have to design your offense, set it up, recruit for it and commit to it 100% or it just won't work.

Tubby has gotten a lot of traction off of Alabama's decade of probation. He is on notice. After the Alabama humiliate the Barners on Saturday, it could be over for him.
Consider the humiliation complete, and Tubby's arse planted firmly on the hot seat.
I don't care for the way he and his staff teach and/or encourage the use of illegal tactics such as clipping/chop blocking. This can easily lead to long-term injury to other team's players, as you are well aware. I for one would like to see him gone.

Recruiting ratings don't necessarily translate into instant production.
Quite true. But the right coach who knows how to properly harvest and focus each individual's talent can make quite a splash. Just look at what CNS has been able to accomplish so far this year.
It's true that we will lose JPW and a number of seniors. But consider that we only have 9 scholarship seniors, and their vacancies will be filled by players already waiting in the wings. I don't really anticipate any substantial drop in talent. To the contrary, I think we'll be fine.

I guess the NFL and the other major sports have it all wrong with a playoff and college football is the only one to have it right huh?
The NFL has a playoff. Even High School football has a playoff. All other college sports have some type of playoff system in place, and it has been so for many years.
I believe that college football is the only sport in the country to not have a playoff system. That, in my eyes, is wrong. We should also have a playoff system. It would be fairly simple to design and put into place. The only question is why will those in power not let it be so?

Early on, Bama played too many close games...relying on a pick or a fumble to secure a win (a la LSU and UK).
If I might refresh your memory:
Nov. 29: Alabama 36, Auburn 0
Nov 15: Alabama 32, Mississippi State 7
Nov 8: Alabama 27, LSU 21
Nov 1: Alabama 35, Arkansas State 0
Oct 25: Alabama 29, Tennessee 9
Oct 18: Alabama 24, Mississippi 20
Oct 4: Alabama 17, Kentucky 14
Sep 27: Alabama 41, Georgia 30
Sep 20: Alabama 49, Arkansas 14
Sep 13: Alabama 41, Western Kentucky 7
Sep 6: Alabama 20, Tulane 6
Aug 30: Alabama 34, Clemson 10
You would criticize us because out of the twelve games we played, we beat Ole Miss, Kentucky and LSU by six points or less? Being rather picky, aren't we?

The end of the year rankings are the only ones that matter.
I agree 100%. Every school loses players every year, whether through graduation or other means. New players start to take their respective places on the teams. That is to say nothing about the continuous coaching carousel throughout the realm of college sports in general. Hence any rankings brought forth from previous seasons are all but completely meaningless. This opinion is one which I've held for a very long time.
I also believe that no "rankings" should be applied to any team until they have played at least 3 of their regular conference games.

I guess you didn't watch the Bama/AU game. If you had, you would have seen Greg McElroy, our next QB, in action. Don't fool yourself. We will have a passing game.
This is my first post here, and I hope to engage each (or most) of you with intelligent conversation. I don't talk smack and as a general rule I don't flame unless I think its specifically warranted.
I hope I'm as welcome here as many of your fans and members are on our boards.
That said, I know some of you think Bama is the worst of all the top 5 or even top 10 teams, and that's OK because I understand your bias. But before you dismiss us, for whatever the reason, consider this. Every team has it's own schedule which in most cases is set years in advance.
We were ranked a lowly #24 in the early pre-season polls. Whether you think each of our opponents were deserving of their particular rankings at the time is a matter of opinion. But our own opinions don't matter, nor do they change those rankings. Bama has met each and every opponent at the time and place scheduled. We have now completed our entire regular season schedule and have defeated every team we have met. We will meet Florida this next Saturday in Atlanta, and that game will decide whether we go on to play in the NC title game or settle for a lesser bowl game. We may win or we may lose, but regardless, it will be decided on the field, not in the minds of us fans.
Whether you agree that we are deserving of the #1 ranking which we now hold is also a matter of opinion. Each and everyone of you are entitled to your own. But before you allow your bias to interfere with an intelligent thought process, ask yourselves this:
What else would you have us do?
