Best GC message board, IMO. If you want some decent football talk, that is.
The Ale House in the Vista along w/ Wild Wing Cafe are both good joints and kind of an older crowd.

Also, Wild Hare Sports Bar is a good spot - it's got a decent patio.

Five Points is going to be a bit crazy - The Vista is usually a bit more laid back.

Liberty is a good spot too...

My arse is not nearly that red.
You have to buy hard liquor at the liquor stores. Beer can be bought anywhere.

Liquor stores close at 7pm.

Greenes on Assembly is the biggest, but it will be a zoo on Saturday.

Restaraunts In Columbia

Hey Guys,

I wanted to start a quick thread to give you some pointers on your trip to Columbia - I know there is another thread but I'm too lazy to wade through all that.

First of all - plenty of places to party on Friday night -

Jakes in 5 points is always popular - they have a pretty large deck and plenty of nice scenery. It's up the hill on Devine Street.

Publick House - Nice little Pub that's just up from 5 Points on Devine Street. They have great beers on tap and some of the best wings in town. HOwever, the service is always a little slow, so don't say I didn't warn you.

Bar None - hole in the wall, open til 5am - it's on Harden Street.

Group Therapy - a Columbia hallmark - it's up from the fountain a little ways - going away from Campus.

The Vista has some good spots as well - and is less "collegey"

Liberty - probably the most popular bar on Gervais Street

Wild Wing Cafe is off of Lady Street, as is The Ale House, which has a cool upstairs deck.

Food -

Best Burgers in town - Rockaways - it's on Rosewood about a mile or two from the stadium.

Wings - Publick House

Nice sit down joints -

Saluda's in 5 points - nice meal.

Mac's on Main - great Southern food - it's downtown on Main Street, about a mile from the Vista.

Villa Tronca - awesome Italian food. It's downtown as well.

Tsunami - good Sushi - right in the Vista

Birds on a Wire - really good Southern food as well - specialize in chicken - it's on Devine Street up from 5 points in Shandon.

Hunter/Gatherer - it's on Main Street, right behind the State House and next to campus - good food and a lot of microbrews on draft.

Well - that should give ya'll a good list to start. Hope you have good trip down and a sad trip back.
