I changed the hoses on my 06 optimax last year, when I was having the same problems you are describing. I couldn't believe what the hose I changed out looked like. It was like a hose inside a hose. It was flaking off every where.
I ended up changing the hoses and filter, and she runs good again....

Have the fuel lines been changed, to ethanol friendly lines?...
