re: Tort (Legal) Reform is by far the biggest issue in the Louisiana Governor’s race
Posted by cjburny on 9/26/23 at 3:01 pm to Kreg Jennings
Our company had a company truck merge to the center on the interstate in Alabama and a car merged toward center also and they bumped. No one hurt, pulled over got police report etc. Insurance said in Alabama unless 100% proven at fault each party insurance fixes their own. In Louisiana that would have been millions to billboard lawyer scum. Why can't Louisiana law be the same as Alabama?

You are correct Clever.
The Today show talked about the AL shooting on Monday morning. Complete silence about it since then. Every day they have showed the old man Hitler in Kansas City and have briefly included the cheerleader and woman killed in NY but nothing about Alabama which was much worse in death and injury. The double standard is appalling and will eventually cause problems in this country.

Our utility construction company went last week to a cooperative and we are already back. We tried to go elsewhere to assist but every utility already had all the crews needed and were turning away help. The logistics in that area of Florida helped much more than Hurricane Michael in 2018. It is true, much of the transmission and main feeder lines are updated with heavy construction to handle strong winds better than the old crap in Louisiana.

Been slowly buying since May when it was 0.69. Should have went all in but bought other stocks that went to crap.
Pretty much sums up my stock market acumen.
Currently have 3,447 shares. Goal is to get to 4000 or more.

Where do I cash the dollar into peso? I've read the airport exchange rate was not good. Is there a place at the ferry or on the island?
Also, are restaurants and such easy to find? Looking on google maps all of the buildings look similar and I'm not proficient in Spanish.
TIA

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I plan on getting a golf cart for at least one day. Is it easy to drive around as far as traffic or getting lost?
Can my 18 year old have a drink (one!) when we are out on the beach?

Taking family to Isla Mujeres this summer. Kids 17 & 18. Staying at Nautibeach Condos (hope it okay place) because kids. Son and I plan to schedule dive to MUSA one morning. Whole family plan to snorkle with the whale sharks. Are these worth doing? Recommendations on eats (local), drinks, etc.? Is it safe to go at at night? 8 - 11:00 not all night of course.
Looked through previous travel threads but most are pre covid. Not sure if things have changed.

re: Can Trump win NY??

I have been on Long Island for the past week working storm outages. I was shocked at how many citizens are in support of Trump and the amount of Trump flags, stickers, etc. Of course this was on the Eastern half of Long Island. Several people said the BLM, Antifa, and far left movement has pushed them away from the Democrat Party. That being said it would be a miracle to get NY red.

I have no proof but I find it hard to believe that China immediately quarantined Wuhan upon the first publicly discussed case in October. This may have been spreading for a couple of months before they realized it.
Unless of course it was intentionally released.

I will be in Nola for the game. I would like tickets please. I also like any beer.

Duke Energy has released at least 1500 lineman to leave Florida.
I’m guessing they are confident there will be no power outages.

I was on a pontoon boat in this lake all day yesterday.
Got a weather alert at 6:30 and went to marina and parked.
I can tell you the wind and water got extremely bad about 7:00.
Knocked some trees down on the lakeside where we are staying.
Feel horrible for those people on that duck.
