Another oddity is Starkville and Nashville aren't that far apart and until 1970,Vandy and State hardly ever had played one another.Weird.

This is a perfect example of my curiosity. I knew we were not the only ones left out I just thought it was odd how the pairings seemed so random.

Ex: Pre'92 I am sure they did not take many flights to conference games. So with LSU's main (now)East opponents being FLA and UK, those aren't exactly short bus rides. But then you have UT-Bama/UT-AU. Which are what four hours at the most. How did we pick the 16 hour drives.

I have read Pete Finney's book the Fighting Tigers and I don't remember him mentioning it. Are there any other good books ok the SEC football history?

True, but we didn't play LSU on a regular basis and our rivalry is one of the best things going on in the SEC right now.

I-59 and anyone else who knows, who did LSU play on a regular basis besides Bama, ole piss, State, A&M? We started playing Florida consistently in 1953.
I think we have only played Georgia like 21 times and Auburn around 26 before '92. 17 times from '34-'92.
Why were we missing out?
