re: Troy Band

FYI we do more than one show a year. No we don't do a new one every week, but we do at least four shows a year. Our first show is for recruitment we take it to different high school competitions as the exhibition band, what you saw was less than half of that show. We did a completely different show for homecoming, and are working on our Veterans day show and will probably start working on our Christmas show at the end of this week or next week.

When we got off the bus's we started to line up to go straight into the stadium but weren't allowed to for what ever the reason. So we went to sectionals and warmed up until we were allowed to go in. We did exactly what we were told. We only had 7 minutes on the field so we chopped down our show to fit into our allotted time, we followed every rule set forth by LSU and the NCAA. Also I dont think that we ever started playing while the tiger band was playing if we did then I apologize, I never heard them playing while we were counting off.

I would hope Les Miles wouldn't over look any team...... if he does then he shouldn't be coaching. With that being said this going to be a good game for both teams. LSU gets a forward look at AU's offense and Troy get to play a damn good team before we go into conference play. Hopefully both teams can leave the field with out any injuries.
GO TROY!!!!!!

lol hey I like that sign, I hope the owner has some insight to the future. Do the majority of our fans think we'll beat you guys... no but we think we can at least hang with you for most the game.

If your going to be around Troy for a while you should check out the town and campus.

If I'm not mistaken they also had us losing to MTSU in our first game. I hope this game will look more like our UGA game rather than the UF game. I have a feeling that it will be some where in the middle. Our defense looks strong this year but offense is going to need a little work.

LSU 38
Troy 20

I really hope this game doesn't get moved. I was happy with our defense on Thursday they stopped MTSU when they need and our new QB has a lot of potential. I'm not sure if he'll be comfortable enough to be consistent against LSU I know he made a good play at Arkansas and pushed down the field against UGA last year. I hope we can keep it respectable, get some experience, and leave without any injuries so we can run the Belt this year.

lol well our Troy is about half way between Montgomery and Dothan if you know where both of those are. I agree with some of you guys we should just move the game to Troy :dude:. how ever I don't think our stadium could handle an LSU crowd considering that fact that it only holds about 30k. I hope the Gustav turns and hits Mexico or something cause I'm looking forward to a night on Bourbon St. and a day in Death Valley
No I just don't like teams that are the best conference in college football that have crappy excuses not to play another instate D1A team. Almost every other team in the SEC has played us but UofA and AU wont unless it's a confrence game(yea thats going to happen) or if we face then in a bowl.

lol, I wasn't sure if you would know or not. I heard that there used to be one there. Ive learned that you cant judge a band by the audio you hear. Can wait for a night in N.O. then a day in death valley. I just hope the game looks more like UGA last year rather than UF.

Yea I'm in the band going into by third year. I cant wait to see/hear LSU's band, heard a lot of good things. Does LSU's band have a drum line or percussion fraternity??

Someone posted this on our board thought some of yall would get a kick out of it.

Yea we lost one conference game to FAU, a team that espn is saying could be a BCS buster this year. Then they went on to blow out Memphis in the New Orleans bowl. They are coached by Howard Schnellenberger the coach who took Miami from a bottom dweller to a national championship in the 80's. Also as far as I know Troy hasn't lost to a D1-AA since makeing the jump to D1-A.
Last season Troy finished above Alabama in the rankings and also moved into the top 25. We ended the season at 34 in SI's power rankings..... but then again who wasn't ranked hirer than Alabama last season :violin:
LSU is going to see the spread offense during the first two games. Awbarn is starting the almost exact same one Troy is running, I'm sure Franklin will change a few things but same system.
Well in our defense we are slowly making a mark on the football world. Every year we are playing the big boys close and beating some of them. I'm sure FSU, Okie St, Missouri, and UGA don't think we are nobodies. I'm not trying to be a arse or say watch out cause blah blah blah.... Just sayin that our team is working on making a name for itself

Where do the visiting bands usually get stuck?? Are we going to be crammed in like sardines or have a little wiggle room?

That's cool I cant wait. When we went to UGA last year we weren't allowed on the field. Even thought we had enough time to play our full show in the stands plus like 2-3 stand tunes before the teams came back out.

The fourth song for our first show is God Bless the Child.
