I am not a financial genius, but I think you also need to consider what your interest rates are and whether you would more likely come out ahead in the long run by investing some or all of the "extra money" rather than rushing to pay off your loans ASAP.

Just another wrinkle to consider. I'm sure one of the regular money talk gurus will drop by sooner or later with some better advice.
I hope it's all BS and JJ is not in trouble. But it would be pretty funny if Vegas started giving UO some points on the spread after this news gets out.
Saw it here too, was wondering what it was about. Thanks for the link.
This really depends on how the lease was set up initially. The residual value of the vehicle at lease end should already be determined when the lease contract is made. If you have a copy of your contract, that information should be there.

The only thing is, the residual value can be manipulated (increased) to bring the lease note down. Not sure if this sort of manipulation of residual value is improper or not, but that's what the sales manager when I leased my last car.

I would check the lease contract. Then you can know what they will charge for buyout and decide if you think that's a fair price.

I think there may be some car dealers that frequent the board and they might know better than me if one of them cares to speak up...

Anyone have a subscription with AAII (American Association of Individual Investors)? I am at a knowledgeable beginner's level when it comes to finance and am wondering if it is likely to be worth the money for someone like me.

I subscribed to consumer reports' money guide in the past and it didn't do much for me. Don't want to waste my money again...
We would stink up the field most of the game then a healthy Chad Jones would magically appear on the field and make some unbelievable play to steal the win at the last second.
