I live in Stonewall and went to several of the North DeSoto games. Saw the kid play and damn can he run. Knock him down and he pops right back up again. I've heard lots of good things about him and I believe McNeese is getting a great player.

We were sitting in section 612, very top row and the guys next to us were chanting this to a Bama guy below us. They also kept calling him JPW Jr. He was sporting JPW's bowl haircut. BTW... there was a Bama fan thrown out by security in section 611. Anyone know what happened there?

LSU game planning versus other states
Planning for the fall football season in Louisiana is radically different
than up North. For those who are planning a football trip to Tiger Stadium,
here are some helpful hints.

Women's Accessories:
NORTH: Chap Stick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket.
LSU: Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a
fifth of bourbon. Money not necessary - that's what dates are for.

Stadium Size:
NORTH: College football stadiums hold 20,000 people.
LSU: The West Upper Deck alone holds 20,000 people.

Fathers:
NORTH: Expect their daughters to understand Sylvia Plath.
LSU: Expect their daughters to understand pass interference.

Campus Decor:
NORTH: Statues of founding fathers.
LSU: Statue of a big arse tiger (next to the live big-arse tiger).

Homecoming Queen:
NORTH: Could also be a physics major.
LSU: Could also be Miss America.

Heroes:
NORTH: Rudy Giuliani
LSU: Billy Cannon

Game Tickets:
NORTH: 5 days before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and
get tickets.
LSU: 5 months before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus,
make a large financial contribution and put name on a waiting list for
tickets.

Friday Classes After a Thursday Night Game:
NORTH: Students and teachers not sure they're going to the game, because
they have classes on Friday.
LSU: If we were to play a Thursday game, there would be no classes
beginning Tuesday because the campus would be packed with RV's and drunk
LSU football fans.

Parking:
NORTH: An hour before game time, the University opens the campus for game
parking.
LSU: RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the
weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday.

Game Day:
NORTH: A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV.
LSU: Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to
where ESPN is broadcasting 'Game Day Live' to get on camera and wave to
the
idiots up north who wonder why 'Game Day Live' is never Broadcast from
their campus.

Tailgating:
NORTH: Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio
station with truck tailgate down.
LSU: 30-foot custom grill made from an old RV, generators, plasma tv's,
kegs, and wet bars. Cooking accompanied by live performance by 'Dave
Matthews' Band,' who come over during breaks and ask for a hit off
bottle
of bourbon.

Getting to the Stadium:
NORTH: You ask 'Where's the stadium?' When you find it, you walk
right in.
LSU: Simple, on game day it becomes the state's third largest
city....Can't
miss it.

Concessions:
NORTH: Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the top with soda.
LSU: Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it,
filled less than half way with soda, to ensure enough room for bourbon.

When National Anthem is Played:
NORTH : Stands are less than half full, and less than half of them stand
up.
LSU: 100,000 fans, all standing, all sing along with hand over their heart.

The Smell in the Air After the First Score:
NORTH: Nothing changes.
LSU: Fireworks, with a touch of bourbon.

Commentary (Male):
NORTH: 'Nice play.
LSU: 'Dammit, you slow sumbitch - tackle him and break his legs.

Commentary (Female):
NORTH: 'This is a violent sport.
LSU: 'Dammit, you slow sumbitch - tackle him and break his legs.

After the Game:
NORTH: The stadium is empty way before the game ends.
LSU: Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker, while somebody goes to the
nearest store for more bourbon, and planning begins for next week's game.

Nothing else in the universe comes even halfway close to the glories of LSU
Football!

Cadercole,
I'm with the Stonewall group that was being held HBP by a 1955 lease. There are no wells in our section and there never have been. Someone has been researching how to break this lease and I found this posted today. Please explain....
"I have traced the land transactions and the mineral rights were never reserved so we have our mineral rights. The bad news is we are held in production from the 1955 lease and the RN Hall well. That means 12.5% royalties that costs can be deducted out of, no environmental and land owner protections and they can drill as close as 200 feet from our homes."

Cadercole,
My property was once part of acreage that was owned by 2 families that signed a contract in 1955 and a gas well has been producing in their section (actually, it's right in their front yard) ever since then. It has been told to me that because of productivity in that section (which is on the opposite side of State Highway 171 and even 2 sections removed from mine) binds me from leasing anything. WTF??

ok, i understand the 10-year rule which states mineral rights can only be reserved (held by the seller of surface property for 10 years, either from the date of sale or from the date of the last exploration activity or production of minerals from the land. if there is no mineral development on the property in that time period, the mineral rights then automatically transfer to the buyer.
we THOUGHT we bought mineral rights on our 5 acres but supposedly this is not true BUT we have lived on our property for 12 years now. you would think this applies. the land company i bought from just told me that we fall under the 10-year. but now someone else other than the land company says that apparently 50+ years ago my acreage was in an original tract of 900+ acres owned by a family that leased it for gas. supposedly, this gas well is still producing to this day and therefore makes our 10-year rule null & void. i have LOTS of questions regarding this. NO ONE so far seems to know who this original family is and whether they are still getting royalties. plus, if this land was sectioned off years ago for sale and this gas well is not even my section then what happens? can anyone help me?
Thanks for the info. Looking forward to tailgaiting with everyone. Sister and brother-in-law coming from Pensacola for game. He's a Seminole fan and intends to cheer for Alabama. :banghead: But we're hardcore LSU and he doesn't have much of a chance.

Hotel info for LSU-Alabama game

Posted by sweetcheeks426 on 8/18/08 at 6:13 pm
Need help with some hotel info for LSU-Alabama game in November. We have booked rooms at La Quinta on Acadian Thruway but I've heard they're not the greatest. Might be changing to Red Lion and Cambria Suites. Any advice? This is my family's first Tiger Stadium experience and we can't wait!!!!
