re: Flyover last week
Posted by C20 on 10/30/08 at 2:22 pm to TigerGrad07
as said earlier it couldnt be picked up because the game time wasn't decided until a week before and the flyover request must be submitted 45 days in advance i believe
that is exactly why college bands don't use a pit. the phasing front to back was off even when they were standing still. and to learn a show in a week or so and then have to worry about phasing front to back with a pit is a lot to handle.
as far as the horn flashes go. part of TGFTL performing is the horn flashes whey they are not marching. almost every song they play in the stands incorporates some dance or horn movement. so naturally when they are presented this music, why not add flashes and dances? i hope people do not think this takes away from the music, but the students interpretation. (who knew Tiger Band was so good with interpretive dancing ?!?!)
to me georgia was second best to TGBFTL. the phasing and volume of the melodics ruined it for me for the red coats.
geaux vote.
geaux tigers.

A quote from LRM during preseason this year "I would like to have 80 trumpets this year. That would be so cool."
I also agree that LSUs is the best video from this

two F-16s. one flown by an LSU AFROTC alumni out of holloman AFB.

you can get boogie down, hey baby, oye como va, and the LSU chant from limewire if you have it all of them played by Tiger Band
the drumline does not play the LSU chant anymore because of their superstition about it (everytime they play it; we lose). so if you are superstitious, stay away from that song. i think its a good song either way
all those songs are on there though

i'm curious as to how many students do go to those games. from both videos it seems like more thans ours
